BARF Militia

I don't see bolt actions being excused in PC12280 that I linked to above. I understand that a bolt action makes it not an assault weapon, but the law specifically says multiple times "assault weapon OR 50 BMG rifle.

Still, even though I'm arguing the other side, I do like your interpretation better! :teeth

You right. I overlooked 50BMG bullshit. Fucking PRK.

That's the beauty, though, it's just an upper, not a rifle. The lower is the rifle, and your standard AR-type lower is .223.

Looking at the flowchart, though, the box that says "Is the rifle chambered in .50 BMG?" ... I bet putting the .50 BMG upper on a .223 lower turns it into a rifle chambered in .50 BMG.

Probably a repost but I still like it...

Rules Of A Gunfight
author unknown

Have a gun.

Preferably, have at least two guns. Bring all of your friends who have guns. If you can choose what to bring to a gunfight, bring a long gun... and a friend with a long gun.

Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice. Ammo is cheap; life is expensive. "Why did you shoot only once? There's no additional paperwork for shooting someone twice!"

Bring ammo. The right ammo. Lots of it. Only hits count. The only thing worse than a miss is a slow miss.

If your shooting stance is good, you're probably not moving fast enough or using cover correctly.

Proximity negates skill. Distance is your friend. (Lateral and diagonal movement are preferred.)

In ten years nobody will remember the details of caliber, stance or tactics. They will only remember who lived.

If you are not shooting, you should be communicating, reloading and running.

Accuracy is relative: most combat shooting standards will be more dependent on "pucker factor" than the inherent accuracy of the gun.

Use a gun that works every time. "All skill is in vain when an Angel pisses in the flintlock of your musket."

Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty.

Always cheat, always win. The only unfair fight is the one you lose. "If you find yourself prepared for a fair fight, you didn't prepare properly."

The purpose of fighting is to win.

There is no possible victory in defense.

The sword is more important than the shield and skill is more important than either.

The final weapon is the brain. All else is supplemental.

Have a plan. Have a back-up plan, because the first one won't work.

Use cover or concealment as much as possible.

Flank your adversary when possible. Protect your own flank.

Don't drop your guard.

Always perform a tactical reload and then threat scan 360 degrees.

Watch their hands. Hands kill. (In God we trust. Everyone else, keep your hands where I can see them.)

Decide to be aggressive enough, quickly enough.

The faster you finish the fight, the less shot you will get.

Be polite. Be professional. But... have a plan to kill everyone you meet.

Be courteous to everyone; friendly to no one.

Your number one option for personal security is a lifelong commitment to avoidance, deterrence, and de-escalation.

Do not attend a gun fight with a handgun whose caliber does not start with a "4".

Nothing handheld is a reliable stopper.

Carry the same gun in the same place all the time.

Getting shot does not mean that you are out of the fight.

Whats Targetmasters like on a Thursday night around 8pm? I'm meeting someone to show/sell my helmet in Milpitas and thought I would check out TM and finally break in my G19.

Breaking in a Glock... lol wut?

It's not too bad, but might be a little bit busy since it's 2nd shooter free night (basically $5 if you split it with a friend). Since the ammo shortage, I've been able to find empty lanes all the time. It always smells like garbage in Milpitas though. The running joke is that the garbage smell is coming from someone's terrible shooting. :laughing

I'll be there tonight finishing up the break-in on my Ultra CDP.

ooohh, nice toys. A member of the militia really needs to get an NFA trust going so we can have the really cool shit to shoot. :)

Heading to USI sat a.m. 11:00ish.

If anybody wants or needs 38 (Jeff/Joe) or .40, let me know and i'll bring it. Just pay me what it's worth. I'm stocked big on .45 now so no barter needed. 9mm is plentified too. Don't shoot much .40 or 9mm anymore so somebody must need it.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder; to each his own. I don't care for the buttstock on it, otherwise I would think it's ok.

Hell, hopefully you pick one up an I get the chance to see it in person!

This rifle is supposed to be incredibly accurate. I read one review where these guys were consistently hitting targets the size of pie plates at 1,150 yards. Savage was trying to make this the most accurate factory rifle. I'm saving up my pennies now. ;)

I can't imagine shooting at that distance, but it would be fun to try.

(Emptying pockets) - lemme see, I've got 12 cents to contribute to the fund! :thumbup

Seriously, good luck and I hope you end up with one.

When I get it, and I will have it :D, I'll bring it down to County of Santa Clara Field Sports Park and let you shoot it. Maybe you won't think it's so f'ugly in person. ;)
