Notice that the Mustang Shelby 500 (and the Boss 302 is better than that car even),

Had a chance to order a Boss 302 to my spec and get it for straight MSRP. Damn I wish I took the deal. At the very least I could've immediately flipped it for probably a good $10k profit after driving it for a month or two.

Oh I went there.

Oh sweet! A dick measuring contest now? Fine I'll play.

You can line up against the Camaro and Mustang. I'll line up 5 car lengths behind and smoke all three of you with my
Z06.

Plus I'll not have a complete money pit disaster after our cars are out of warranty! :twofinger

Google 72 Nova vs Z06..... Let me know when you wanna line up son.

Can we bet on this?

I got a solid hundo on beau

Seeing those 2 cars in his shed and knowing of another... And knowing beau... Yeah. Sorry not a chance you guys have.

Some guys talk the talk. Beau (for as long as I have known (of) him... Walks it

Rob, I love ya man, but I'm putting my money on Beau too...

That yours? First thing that the google came up with was a $1250 street run heads up. Fast as fuck. But c'mon...I'm supposed to run a bone stocker against a fully built, single digit, and trailered in drag car?

Tell you what. We'll run the quarter. However many seconds you beat me by is how many seconds head start you can have in a lap around Laguna How you like your chances now?

That video was him? How many people give him shit for towing his Chevy with a Ford? :p

I'd probably bet on this car too if I knew what it was. We know what I got. A stock Z06. High 11's @ 128mph with ideal conditions. That's a fast street car but there's certainly faster shit out there. Forget about being upstaged by someone who slaps a turbo kit and some cheater slicks on, GM went and raised the bar with the ZR1. So only a few months after I got the damn thing it already wasn't the fastest Corvette GM even made anymore. There's always someone with something faster.

First vid is me yeah. You where the one talking about drag racing in your big bad vette here i'll remind you.

So now you wanna go racing at Laguna Seca instead?:facepalm Fully built drag car? Fuck me I wish I had that, your car has more techno wizardry in the front suspension than my whole car :laughing

I want to know what it is too :x

Rob. Only way it would be remotely fair if if you extrapolated the distance vs time in your scenario. 1/4 by 2 secs = 1 mile by 8 secs. A 2 mileish course = 16ish seconds.

Better hope that car handles like complete shit. 16 secs is a pretty large gap to make up... From go time you are already behind 20ish seconds. All he has to do is run a 1:57 and he's tied you (assuming you can run/beat fastest z06 record.)

I only started talking drags because someone else started talking drags with their Eurotrash against the 'Stang and 'Maro. I was defending America's honor dammit!

Then more dick waving and trailer cars get put in the mix. Jesus. Like I said, there's always someone faster. There's probably some punk out there that'd be happy to take that $1250 you won with a built up Evo.

And if you ask Miran the front suspension of my car has less technology than yours. I believe he'd use the word "stagecoach" to describe the leaf spring! :laughing

Sure. Even 16 seconds head start. Fine. Wrinklewall rears and dragster front tires? That nose heavy car would just plow right into the sand at the Andretti hairpin.

Please explain how you have leaf springs in the FRONT suspension of your car. :wow

I'll agree with you on one thing tho. FUCK EURO TRASH. :thumbup

'97 - '04 z06?

Corvette's use of the leaf spring isn't what you think. For one, these are not springs located longitudinally on an axle, locating the axle and providing suspension action. Instead the springs are mounted transversely, one between each of the front wheels and the other between each of the rear wheels. This allows for thinner sway bars and better fine tuning of suspension.

sorry I was going off this

http://blogs.insideline.com/roadtes...vette-z06-the-mystery-of-the-leaf-spring.html

is this not a leaf spring?

44.jpg

that's front and rear for a vette, that's right only 2, 1 for front and 1 for rear...

i understand what the traditional usage of a leaf spring is... seems that chevy thought of it differently.

Yeah it's more of a roll bar than a acutal spring, they have coil overs on the front. The rear does use a leaf spring but the front doesn't use it for the actual suspension. ( it does not take place of the spring over the coil) if that makes sense.

Also, I didn't mean to come off as a dick with my previous post.

:cool

I was going off of what Rob implied ;)

I would actually like to know more about why chevy chose this if you have more info. From my understanding the leaf acts as kinda both a torsion bar and suspension assist but I can't find any factual data about it.
btw I love thread derailments
