I just woke and caught up. I have not thought through that entirely, but last night it occurred to me that I want to meet his parents and have a nice sit down chat with them regarding their son's activities.

Judging by Divz's posts, and those of his "friend", I'm old enough to be his dad. I've already put one kid through college, have another there, and a third in high school. I know if my kid was pulling this shit, I'd want to know about it, particularly if I had underwritten his purchases because that would make me an enabler of his bad behavior.

That's a start. Of course, since he hasn't replied to any of my posts, this strikes me as a decidedly unlikely outcome.

That is an interesting prospect.

I like the idea and in lieu of going to the police; an agreement is made between Divz and The BARF victim (Kurt) to not go to the CHP/Sheriff with the copied videos (as suggested by Bojangle in the other thread) if Kurt can meet with his parents.
 
+1 to having him and his "crew" take AND PASS the MSF BRC.

In fact, I'd mandate the same for all male drivers under 25, but maybe that's just me...

To expand a bit on my proposal: Let them take the MSF BRC. If they pass, we'll take up a collection to reimburse them for it -- since apparently $200 represents a major expense for the owner of a $50,000 car. :p

IMHO this would have the following benefits:

1. they would learn how vulnerable motorcyclists are
2. it would take them off the streets for an entire weekend :p
3. it would improve their defensive driving skills generally -- I know it did in my case
4. it might actually prod them to join the "dark side" and ditch their cars for motos. Then they can undergo the BARF initiation ceremony, followed by a chorus of "Kumbaya." :teeth

On the other hand, it might provide even MORE fuel for their "need for speed." But I think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

What say you, BARF? Is this worth doing? It's probably not as effective as talking to their mommies and daddies, but it would be a lot more fun for them (and for us, if they FAIL).

PS. Enough with the fag jokes already. All you're doing is insulting gay people.

congratulations.. you guys turned something that i loved into something that i now fear. i started off driving redwood one day in my little toyota truck just to see where it ended and i fell in love with the road. went and bought a car and kept driving redwood. i made some mistakes here and there and learned from them and now i stay in my own lane. ill admit im going a little fast most of the time.. but at least im staying in my lane. and now.. im f*ing scared to even drive up there because imma have a bunch of older cats on bikes starting sh*t with me. and dont tell me you guys wont start sh*t because youve been proving yourselves to all be assh0les in this thread.

YOU GUYS FLY THROUGH DEAD STOP TRAFFIC AT HIGH SPEEDS! do you realize how dangerous that is? i almost hit a biker in traffic because he was flying by me so fast that i couldnt even tell he was that close to me. ive been through redwood/pinehurst numerous times in which there was a bike behind me ON MY ASS! and you know what? to me it was all fun and games. i mean sure ill try my luck and try to outrun a bike. sometimes it happens but i mean cmon.. if you guys do that type of sh*t to a driver who isnt too experienced youre gonna drive him off a cliff. no one wants some bike on their ass hell of loud pressuring them.

one of my best friends rides a bike. he also touges a car. and you know what? he respects both. and he has told me how some of you guys ride throughout the bay area and youre no better than divine. i was pulled over on pinehurst the other week and a see a biker from far away. i throw up my peace sign and what does he do? HE FLIES BY ME A FULL THROTTLE INCHES FROM ME. i seriously almost felt his clothes as he flew by.

so congrats.. you will never see me in my car on redwood again. :thumbdown
