Uh huh...like (DJ) Woody signing up for MSF?

:teeth

It's a start, but certainly not the end. I was asked what would it take to make me start believing he was serious, and that's my answer. That token effort, along with his not driving dangerously on public roads.

Fellas, lets see what Kurt wants to do, shall we?

Dc... I don't mind sprinted driving/riding but lack of safety is something I do mind (personally). Two or four wheel motorsport has it's risks but all our priorities should be to minimize them, get my "Drift";)

It's back on post #503.

but last night it occurred to me that I want to meet his parents and have a nice sit down chat with them regarding their son's activities.

Not his interlocutor, not his crew, not even the beloved BARF Militia, just the boy and his parents. Simple.

There have been lots of good suggestions for things he should do. Come to a 1Rider event, do a track day, take the MSF, etc. One that hasn't been mentioned might be to volunteer in the ER at a regional trauma center.

sheesh... Now all i'm getting from all of this is that Asians are still bad drivers :laughing

Kurt, I admire how you've stayed above the fray. I'm not sure I could have maintained the same sense and sensibility that you've shown.

Good luck trying to set up a 'sit down' with the offender and his parents.

And a hearty congrats on the great riding skills that allowed you to survive the attack.

So what exactly are you doing then? You said that you aren't defending his actions, you are defending your friend - but when you shield him from the repercussions of his actions, you are defending those actions.

What you should be doing is encouraging him to stop being a no-talent ass-clown on public roads; help drive home the stupidity and severity of his actions. Often times it takes the people closest to us to have an impact. Sure, support your friend, but support him in changing his behavior, not by trying to protect him from the consequences. Protecting him won't help him and it wont help the next person he tries to kill.

I appreciate standing by your friend, but you've got to call him out on his shit. I've been there, and friends protect each other - especially when they need to be protected from themselves. That, for me, is the measure of true friendship.

So I guess we have finally arrived at the Rodney King stage..."Can't we all just get along?"

If Divine is serious about being up on the hill Saturday I'm seriously thinking about going up and having a chat...not to threaten because that's just pointless, but because as an avid 2 wheel and 4 wheel driver and also former SCCA racer I want to look him in the eye and see how humble he is about what he's learned...

It's not my fight...but it is my road as much as it is his and I want him to respect the responsibility that goes with the privelage of using it.

I love Redwood and Pinehurst and I usually ride it when coming back from a Santa Cruz Mtn run...maybe some of his crew will be there too to have a reasonable discussion.

i get what your trying to say i guess what im saying i his actions where wrong. sure i could try to talk to him but it really doesnt matter what anyone says when your alone your gonna do what you want? like to me its kinda like the saying "you can take a horse to the water but you cant make him drink". i can talk to him all i want who knows if he will take it in..i gotta see if his actions will speak for him in a more positive manor..

I just think that since you are his friend, your words will hold more value than any of ours.

DivineZ said some things in here and I let them get to me. If he is willing to actually make a change then something good has come out of this. I'd would like nothing more than for him to enjoy spirited driving on these fantastic roads in a safe way. I like seeing sports cars up on the mountain since I have a love of cars as well as bikes, but it takes more skill to stay in your lane and hold a line than it does to bust the double-yellow.

It is my sincere hope that the message gets through to DivineZ and that he becomes a voice advocating safe, spirited motoring. We can share the road, but not when there are people who drive the way he has in the past. I guess I was lucky, I moved out here and into the arms of a great moto community who taught me a great deal about riding, gear, and my machine; maybe DivineZ needs that force in his life, I don't know. All I know is that his actions that day were unacceptable, and his half-assed apology did nothing to help his cause.

I've driven a stock 350Z roadster, and at the speeds he was going he should have no trouble keeping it between the lines. If I can do it in a stock rental car then he has no excuse to not do it in that tuned-up car of his.

At this point the ball is in his court. I'm willing to go up for a meet and hear what he has to say. I think I've effectively expressed my take on these events, but this isn't my show.

Anyone else think that Divine Z and his "buddies" are all the same person. :rolleyes Either that or the whole touge crew has an aversion to capitalization and punctuation.

Edit: My bad, apparently this has already been discussed.

find out where he lives and key, smash windows, deflat tires etc?

i dunno just a suggestion.

No reason to take it out on his car. I mean after all, the car didn't do it on it's own.

I sort of feel bad for DC*Sk8r, ok not really, but a bit. I had a feeling with some of the tempers I have seen in riders, and god fucking forbid DivinShithead hit a HA rider. He'd be a bag of hamburger right about now.... DC could end up with the same fate just by being around Divine..

Sorta feel bad... ok not really.

yeah the big bad barf is gonna beat you up...

of HA for life will kill you?

I think you should ride more cruiser (HA) friendly rides more often try risking their lives for while... See how long they play nice...
