The OP still has the option of going to the cops with this.

Done. It was a week since the incident about 10-15 minutes ago. Saki is not going to step up. :thumbdown

bummer that it had to resort to going to the police... pray tell what was discussed and what the officers said the next course of action is/maybe?

Dc tell your friend(s) to contact Kurt (A husband to a wonderful woman, A father to 3 sons, and a valued member of Barf) and have a man to man at 1rider as Connie/Robert already said?

Dc and co. just understand the passion/anger that we all feel about the situation comes from that it could have been any of us (and I'll be the first to tell you, I'm not as good a ride as Kurt, I'd be dead). Seeing a car on the wrong side of traffic (esp. in a blind corner) is literal like staring at a barrel of a gun for us.
okay will do..but sorry i gotta ask what is one rider? =/ ...i also get where your coming from and unfortunately the example you used brought up bad meomries =(

Some folks will agree with that choice, others will disagree. I've been as patient as I care to be.

Thanks to all the BARF'ers who contributed to this thread. It has taken on a life of its own. :cool

My wish here is to keep someone from getting taken out. Clearly, divz/saki/prznbch/whatever lacks the skill and the judgment to keep from endangering folks on the road. Until such time as he develops the necessary self-awareness, or until the police take him off the road, or he takes himself out of the gene pool, we all need to ride with the thought in mind that he and his "crew" and others like him are out there.

:wtf the message got out, the thread had no more forward momentum, people had stopped posting about the situation.
With the "new" interest in the thread, at least it's keeping it at the top of the page, where more people are continuing to see the information that's in it. And, for the sake of accuracy, I didn't start the leghumping, I just responded to it. Nothing wrong with encouraging "interspecies" (car/bike) relations! :p

I wasn't bagging on you in a personal way (sorry if I came across like that) I was just pointing out that when you join in the fun you can end up to be taken less seriously thus watering down the whole point of why you spoke up in the first place.

Hey man, I know this thread has devolved into name calling. Just take note of the passion that this incident has stirred up. Desmodromic is right about all of us feeling upset because yeah, it could have been any one of us. Bikers take things like this very seriously because we don't have airbags. This is very literally a life and death situation for the OP and for all of us who ride the twisties.

*****

Kurt, I'm glad to hear that you went to the cops. Thanks for taking a step to keep all of us safe. :thumbup

I've enjoyed getting to (kind of) know some of you. I find this whole affair fascinating from a sociological perspective. In older times neighbors knew each other and there was a sense of responsibility and accountability. The car and overpopulation have removed that and frankly society has been suffering as a result. The fact that the internet can return some of that community, especially in a megalopolis as big as the Bay Area - well, how cool is that!

I'll continue following this thread because I'd like to know what the punishment is for reckless driving in California. What with the videos and the ID, I expect this might even make CNN.

Cheers.

I do not disagree with your decision, you (as an experienced rider) has chosen what you felt was the best alternative of discipline. I will be glad to know that he is sitting in jail, although that is highly unlikely :( Maybe someday he will truly understand where we come from!

Or, you can keep beating a dead horse...
I spoke my piece, it got heard loud and clear. Holding on to anger does nothing to engender a willingness to continue to hear. Eventually, you have to lighten up. I don't think my message has been diluted at all, but that's just my opinion. More importantly, by keeping the thread alive, more and more people are continuing to read the message, and that's a good thing! :)

Disagree. Going to the police is the best course of action and the only regret is that he's already not off the streets this week.

thank you... I do not like to be misrepresented..

There was a potential to resolve this without police interference... since the original offender failed to "man up" looks like he may be forced too!!!

man how do i always miss the good drama?

Well I'm late to the party here...but if it hasn't been worked out already I'll fight him for some street justice and then we can all drink beers out of his skull. :superhawk :twofinger

How about we just call the EBR and get this over with?

call TMU instead... more underground :teeth
