Ford Ranger 4x4 vs Honda Ridgeline 4x4

The Nissans have never looked good to me.

But this looks much better.

Maybe because it looks so much more like this?

You could have substituted any truck photo taken from the same angle and same colour and said they look the same.

Apparently Hyundai is finally going to announce a production version of the small truck that they have been hinting at for about 5 years. Looks alright IMO, though it will likely be a bit like the ridgeline, unibody, with a platform sourced from an SUV.

The Mercedes truck is kinda cool, too....

They were supposed to bring that over as the X class (IIRC) about 5 years ago and it never happened. Mahindra also had their failed entry into the US market - and got sued over it.

Hey look, if you can zoom in close enough you might be able to see a bed :laughing

Still think Toyota should bring this over.

Amarok > Hilux as far as not-sold-here pick me up trucks.

Having lived in a place that had all of these on the market, I don't really see the appeal of them over American trucks. The Hilux, Amarok, X-Class (isn't that just a Nissan Frontier here?), Mitsubishi 200, etc aren't anything special at all.

Small displacement turbo diesels that combine good mileage, tow capacity, and fit inside the average garage/parking space.

For years I was trying to get my hands on a Jeep Liberty CRD but they were rare and resale made the Taco blush.

Thankfully, Nissan hasn't seemed to go the "Big Snout" route like the Tacoma.

You know that they've lost the plot when the part of the truck in front of the cab is as long as the part behind the cab.

The compact trucks will show up when the mid-size trucks get as large as the full-size trucks. Then the whole cycle will repeat with the compact trucks getting larger, etc etc.

The 2007-2008 Grand Cherokee CRD is a much better buy in my opinion.(I have one ;)) Although they too have higher resale prices than the regular versions.

The Liberty uses a VM Motori engine that many owners say are a bit finicky about their maintenance needs. The Grand uses a Mercedes Benz engine that is much more common, and more known for longevity, as its in the sprinters and all the modern MB sedans.
