Get Well Soon Frong

I hope you heal up quick frong.

I was taking pics from the inside of turn 11 on one of my first "spectating" trackdays. I was standing right in front of the cornerworker's box, I saw my friend ride off the track from the exit of turn 10 and ride down the hill out of sight. I turned around and the corner worker never even saw him, I had to tell him about it. I've always dreaded hearing of something like this from that first trackday "expierence."

Oh man, hope you have a quick recovery frong. Didnt want to hear about something like this two days before my first trackday

That broken femur is a really bum deal. :( Heal up quick Sammi.

That's absolutely insane.

Frong, get well man...you've got alot of support here.

Damn man thats freaking crazy. Does anyone have a picture of the turn where he went off? Maybe we can see why they couldnt find him and he was out there suffering.

Get well soon fr0ng

I bet they're taking him to stanford...

no one should have to go through that. Hope he keeps riding although with his record maybe he shouldn't...
unbelievable

Thanks for the update Austin, Get well soon Frong.

I agree, that is fuckin bullshit that the people in the flagstand didn't see that.

jeez, hope you're alright dude.

Getting a tow from fast guys can be a bit hairy sometimes, but hopefully the surgery will go well, and several months from now this will all be behind you.

Damn, one hour is a long time in the heat... Heal up fast, fr0ng...

(I've never done a trackday, but wouldn't they recall all the bikes to do a roll call then start looking for the lost bike if someone reports anything weird?)

appears to be PTT.

I am sure that no one feels worse than Michael Earnest who runs Pacific Tracktime. I have attended a few of his trackdays and he does an outstanding job. Frong's wreck sounds like a real fluke, with him not being seen by the tower, turn 5 corner worker, someone else on the track or a spectator. One in a million chance of all those things happening (or not happening). That being said, it is horrifying that this could happen especially with the extent of the injuries.
Heal up quick Frong - it will not be the same on here without you. Vicaden will be your friend for awhile.

Belive me its not just going to be Vicoden. He is going to have the fruit cocktail of pain meds. When I broke my back at Thill (T1 victum) I was on morphine, Vicoden, Valium, and Phentenol.

Apparently he rode off between T1 and 2 kinda behind the hill of T1. Not a visible area of the track and an area where not many people run off.

:wow

Heal up quick Sammi.

Someone should get him a laptop and an internet connection so he can post from the hospital about the hairy male nurses...

Man, didn't he just get a $300 parking ticket yesterday? Now this? Damn. Heal up man.

Although pain pills are all fun at first, withdrawls are a pain in the ass. While playing Lacrosse, in the corse of a week I contused my lung, then 7 days later broke a rib. I then continued to play. I was popping vicodin like skittles for quite a long time (they gave me a BIG bottle). After 2 weeks of heaviy useage, when coming off the last dose I'd become woozy, and nausiated. Imagine the swirls sensation when you've drank 1 drink too many... x10. The feeling wouldn't go away until I popped the next dose. Not fun.

Pain pills will be your friend but you'll have to monitor usage as time goes on... opiates are addicting... and withdrawls will follow...

I used quite a bit of vicoden after my accident too, but I knew the after effects, So i just went longer before I used and then at smaller doses. So I really didnt get the withdrawal effects.

Yes Sami is supose to be transfered to Stanford tommorow for surgery. His bike is totaled but he should be fine.

Any one who knows Sami knows he is a great guy and lives to ride, and was getting really good at the track. The last time I went with him he was only a few seconds off my 209-211 pace and that was with a bike 330CC down from mine and 2.5 years less riding experience.

I am sure he would be happy to know that Barfers are wishing him well.
