I also cant believe he was out there for so long, why didn't they stop everything and look for him?

I hope this changes things and never happens again.

Damn, one hour is a long time in the heat... Heal up fast, fr0ng...

(I've never done a trackday, but wouldn't they recall all the bikes to do a roll call then start looking for the lost bike if someone reports anything weird?)

No shit. It was about 99 degrees up there. Full suit, helmet in the hot sun.

this is very sad to hear about what happened to Sammi and what he went through....

I hope this thread cheers him up.....

Best wishes to fr0ng....

I'm sure Sami is going to be glad to see this thread when he gets in front of a computer. I'll pass along your wishes when we go to visit him ASAP.

I think I speak for our whole circle, we are really glad he is relatively ok and everyone is wishing him well.

Dude, i don't know you but i see alot of postings from you, get well bro, sorry to hear about it

heal up well man, and this is a fugged up situation to be put in.

Get well Frong. I know you don't like me but I wish you well just the same. I hope you get some top notch medical care and heal up fast so that you'll be out riding again. You'll have a nice war story to tell for the rest of your life.

If he went off where I think he did then he was easily in the triple digits. :(

That is the craziest thing I ever heard of. I hope someone is held responsible for this.

I hope things work out well for you Sammy.

Wow...Crazy man....

Heal up Frong...Best wishes to a speedy recovery.. :(

OK, maybe a few details. Apparently he was getting a tow from a fast "A" group guy. After the session was over the A group guy noticed Frong was nowhere to be found. They even called out for him on the intercom with no answer. The sessions continued and still he was not heard from. Then before the next B group, someone noticed something up the hill past turn 1. It was Frong and he had been there unconscious for almost an hour with broken bones and a concussion baking in the 100' heat. That's why I feel so bad for him. There were no workers in turn 1 so no one ever saw him go off the track...

:wow damn damn damn... just saw this thread and haven't even read rest but had to reply. that's really scary to hear that story. hope everything works out man. sorry to hear about the crash and get better soon.

Wow...what a lame crash experience, sorry to hear it! It is funny I did not hear the flightcare and I was home pretty much all day and I live right under thier incoming flight path. Sounds like Fr0ng is pretty hurt otherwise I would walk over to Enloe and wish him well. If he is being transported he must need some special surgery, lets hope that all goes well!

wow, what a nightmare! don't know the guy, but that's just plain bad luck. I really hope his recovery and rehab go well.

for everybody up in arms about how this could happen, I can share my perspective.

I've been going to t.hill since 1992 in cars and bikes and I can tell you this is a freak incident. I've never heard of anything like this happening before.

While it's true that one of the reasons that bike track days are relatively inexpensive is that there are not a full compliment of turn lurkers, I can tell you first hand that if he did leave the track after the exit curbing in one, he might have even gotten missed by a full crew, as that is a very unusual place to leave the track......the corner's basically done, unless one were to run wide at the exit, which sounds like that is what could have happened. Also, the start/finish tower probably could not see this occur, as the track is going downhill at that point. Besides, Turbo or whoever is working the start/finish tower would not be looking that direction, instead, the main flagger person is looking down the front straight towards T15 and not looking behind them into one. Even the guy in T5 might not be able to see past the exit of one, as there is a hill between T5 and T2

So if you've never been to a track day or race weekend, don't let this incident make it seem like it's just as unsafe as canyon roads.
That's not representative of the usual experience.

The most important thing is to make friends with the folks pitted around you or if you're lucky enough to go with some friends, all the better.

hope that helps calm the "how could this happen" questions.
