Indian Scout FTR1200

A 750 would just be a sleeved-down (or otherwise altered) 1200 so I doubt there would be any weight savings. The FTR750 engine has intensive service intervals and would not likely make a satisfying street bike engine.

I'm on the fence right now because of the service intervals. I was told by the dealer every 5k is a valve check. If that is the case I'm probably going to pass on my deposit.

If I don't want the bike I'm sure someone can take my spot. I'm guaranteed a bike on the first batch.

With Daytona on the horizon ( 3/8-17/19), I think this bike is due a test ride for the masses.
I have signed up for Az bike week (first week of April), a buddy in Oregon shamed me into it. I'm expecting a static display for sure, no reason NOT to have a fleet of testers either. The Indian and HD are scheduled to appear.
I still have Laughlin @ the end of April where HD, Honda, and Indian have been in the past couple of years.

Like the looks of the FTR 1200. Except the seat is too high. How it rides who knows. No ones does a read test anymore just "first ride impressions". If I could get a test ride it could be my next bike. Just won't buy one without a ride first.

I got to bounce on the seat and make motor noises, but NO test :ride until after May when they are to be released to the dealers. No rides in Daytona, Scottsdale, or Laughlin.
:thumb down :mad

Midgets never get an even break!

Of course I stubbornly rode a raised R80GS (36" seat) for a couple of years, just to see how ridiculous it was to stop at a light on a hill like Mason Street. I had a TR-6 in the stable then, too, at 28" and found it to be "too short to ride"...

Time sure drags waiting for this bike to come out. Come to think of it waiting for nice weather is getting old too.

Journalists are in Southern California for the FTR1200 press introductions and rides. Expect write ups soon.

Hope we get a "test" and not a riding impression.

I'm guessing this is just the intro so we'll just get first impressions as the journalists will just sit through presentations and go on rides for a day or two. Full, instrumented tests where the magazines/sites/youtube channels have the bikes for an extended time will come later.
