Indian Scout FTR1200

yes, the FTR beats the Turnip on looks -
it is quite luverly, especially in the spendy
"racer" replica paint/electronics version

speed twin looks like a great bike-positive reviews also.

moar, from the unmatchable Mr. Burns:

".....the FTR lets you know the H-D XR1200 comparison is right out the window; its light flywheel lets you know so is the [Guzzi] Griso one, along with any similarity to the BMW R nineT. The FTR’s character is much more in line with a big KTM or Ducati Monster 1200, neither of which the FTR feels like it’s far off the pace of at all – and even sweeter, the Indian reaches its peak numbers lower in the rev range than either of those before signing off at 9000 rpm or 125 mph.....

.....If you weren’t paid to find fault like I am, you’d probably ride this one around for 15 minutes and say “Holy S#*t what a great bike!” The fact that an American motorcycle company (okay, a major American motorcycle company with no Buell in its name) built such a performance-forward machine at all is reason enough to celebrate, and Indian’s got lots more where that came from
....."

Some really good reviews on the bike! Hopefully we'll get a barfers perspective soon.

33" seat height, that cuts me out. A smaller version with an 800 in it would be a very fine commuter bike for me. :)

According to the Indian motorcycle forum they are starting to deliver the bikes to dealers all over now. I hope to hear a barfers review soon.:ride

Excited about trying one out. A little disappointed the electronics are an on/off sort of thing. All or nothing...

Just configured my S the way I wanted it. Only $18,409... Guess I'll be waiting a bit longer to buy one. Eeek.

Hey Tim yeah i called Arlen Ness of Dublin also earlier this week and they said to be expecting them anytime now. Not sure but I think they have 11 bikes on the way right now if they haven’t already arrived.

Maybe we should meet there for a test ride. We can compare notes.:laughing

No need to make the seat as high as they did. Still plan to take a ride on one just wish they would have done an adjustable seat.

Whats the competition for this bike?
Looks like it falls somewhere between a Monster 1200R and a Hypermotard.

well, I’m seriously considering the Injun against Euro twins:
the R9T, Speed Twin, Monster (wut size?)

this as a replacement for my booming, yet quite worn out Buell -
when I surprisingly selected the M2 over a Monster or SuperHawk
20 yrs ago, none of the 4 listed above existed

one wag here suggested the Africa Twin,
but even on 17s, I dunno

RE 650’s too weak, V-Stroms & Euro 800 parallel-twins too modern
(tho very competent), as are MT7/9s & KZ1k.....

this would be a different kinda purchase
