Indian Scout FTR1200

Got a call over the weekend. Bike will be ready end of May/early June. Confirmed I’m in the first group. Still uncertain if it’s for me. Really need a test ride.

Looking forward to your ride report. This could be my next bike, but I will also need a test ride before putting any $$ out.

It sure feels like it's been awhile since Indian announced this bike but exciting just the same. It's already rumored that there will be a street fighter and an adventure bike based off this model. I'm looking forward to hearing some riding impressions.

Motorcycle.com posted this to their bookface page this morning, hopefully their pic shows up.

"Rough duty in Cabo. Somebody’s got to do it..."

Nice pic... I even see a bike. :p

Oh I got a chance to be able to see the bike at Spirit Motorcycle last Friday. They were having a launch party. I had stuff to do so I didn't go =(

So is this bike out yet or not? I can’t wade through 20 pages, again (I keep forgetting if I had read this thread or not:)) when all I really wanna know....

The dealer told me Mid May form the bikes.

The Indian test fleet truck guys told me that everything opens up in May, when they are available to purchase. Then test rides happen.
All I got last week in Laughlin was another bounce on the seat.

My first impression of the bike...

They had an FTR Scrambler version there, so I sat on it to see if the "too tall" complaints were legit...

I'm just a hair under 6 feet, I used to be a hair over, but I lost my hair, and hit my 50's when people start to shrink, but I could firmly plant both feet on the ground, and this version is the tallest one according to the rep.

for me, as my next likely purchase, FTR 1200 is 1 of 3 to be considered [along with BMW R9T & wunnerful Turnip Speed Twin]

mebbe a Honda Africa Twin on 17s, dunno yet....

my Trumpet test ride 2 wks ago @ SJ Injun dealer was most pleasing - nimble, enuf power, unbelievably smooth shifting, good OEM muff sound

the other 2 [or 3?] need to match/beat the $12k Speed Twin or my search is complete.....

ha! I 4got, the Injunz on 18s, eh?
Yep. I’m not a fan of 18” or bigger wheels. I get the connection to dirt track bikes, but it makes them slower to steer and you can’t find sticky tires for the street.

Otherwise, I love the styling and Indians are better looking than Harleys, IMHO. That being said, I’m seriously considering that bike. It’s beautiful in a way that may make me overlook those “flaws”

Supposedly, they’re making different bikes from those parts. Maybe they’ll come out with a super naked?

yes, the FTR beats the Turnip on looks -
it is quite luverly, especially in the spendy
"racer" replica paint/electronics version
