Melinda Moore has been found.

:rose RIP

This one is a big loss to the community. Without knowing her persaonally it is easy to see that she had a positive impact on all who met her.

RIP.

What a sad ending.

All those who took to the streets to find her can be very proud of their efforts. You have been true ambassadors for the sport of motorcycling.

Small comfort in a difficult time, but even in death she appears to have been able to show the positive side of motorcycling to the world.

Dang! A diver picked up the helmet and gloves, there were no skid marks because she evidently drove off, she couldn't be seen from the road. No wonder she wasn't found earlier. Too bad the papers didn't run the story sooner. I talked to her on more than one occasion at Santa Rosa BMW.

RIP fast lady.

I feel trivial in saying all the same things, but I want one more voice to be heard stating the tradgedy of this. Whenever I lose a brother or sister rider, it hurts. Bad. I felt the same way when I knew of Joey Dunlop and Katoh, and a writer for Performance Bikes who was lost not too long ago.

My heart goes out to her and all who knew her.

How did the helmet and gloves end up on the street and the rider and bike down the hill and no skid marks?

thats just weird..

There was a good chance that it was a suicide... She might have left them as a marker so she could be found...

Sorry for the repeat...

Man this really blows. I was fortunate enough to meet Big red at a post race party she threw a while back. A happier glowing person with a passion for riding you could not find. She was fun to be around and welcomed us all into her house like we had known her forever. Her Aprilla was her baby and she was so proud showing it off to us. I'll always remember getting a hug as we left. Godspeed Melinda. :rose
All our thoughts and prayers to Mark, Melinda's family and all who are in so much pain right now.

RIP and I hope we can learn something for this if nothing else riding with a buddy or something like that.

Wow, that would really take some guts to do. Hope she's found her peace. :rose

Anyone know where the crash occured?
Was it anywhere near Jenner?
Also anyone know what type of helmet she had?

I only ask, because this all sounds really weird, but the day she disappeared, we have been riding home from Ft. Bragg.

My dad's ST2 broke down on the cliffs of HWY 1 north of Jenner, and while he was waiting for us to go get a truck, some guy drove by with a fairly new either AGV or Arai or something helmet and said "you lose a helmet?"

He hadn't but it stuck as odd, but I didn't think of it again till today...

Man I hope all this was unrelated...

It was a black and red AGV helmet. Your dad probably met the abalone diver. It's probably not a bad idea to ask your dad to contact the case officer, just in case.

- A report has been filed with Santa Rosa Police Dept. # 05-17128
- Officer Ray Navarro is the contact officer 707-543-4034

I hope they look at all aspects of this incident, and don't just write it off as a suicide. There have been cases where I stop and took off my helmet/gloves, and then decided to move my bike to a better location for picture/etc. A mechanical problem or an accident could come up at a time like that. I know, may be far fetched, but I hope they look at all possibilities.

I don't think I have ever been so sadened or cried so much over someone I didn't know. She has affected the entire riding community in one way or another. I send my love to her family, fiance', and and to those who knew her.

May her soul rest peacefully among the angels.
