Sorry to hear this sad news. Thanks to all who contributed to the effort to find her. It really shows that you guys are all very caring people. My sympathies to her family and friends.
I'm a newbie and just heard of this watching the news last night. Reading about her passing this morning at this site brought me to the conclusion that I could not have joined a better group than this to get back into the "riding life". You people are amazing in your all out caring for each other (even people you've never met). I've never met Melinda (Big Red) but wish I had.
Nothing I could say would make anyone feel better about the tragic circumstances of her passing, but I hope that you (we?) all can look back on the recent events and see what kind of camraderie you've shown and find solace in the knowledge that you did the best you could. The effort shown here was something I'll never forget. BE PROUD!
R.I.P. "Big Red"
Gambit
A proud member of the "barf" community, now and forever.
A huge thanks to everyone who helped search for her. It's been a true testament to how much of an influence she had on the community and how amazing of a community we have here in the Bay Area & in the motorcycle world in general.
My sympathies to her family and friends; not only will you remember her, but those of us who never had the chance to meet her will carry her in our hearts as well.
It was nice to see how everyone got together to do sweeps and look for Melinda, never knew her but she must be a great girl and BARF is a great community. Glad to be here with you all..
As I read all the posts over the last few days I have come to realize what a great group of people the motorcycle community in the bay area is. So many worked so hard hoping for a positive outcome. Even with the tragic news of Bigreds passing everyone is still very supportive.
I am glad that I now call the Bay area home and can ride my motorcycle knowing that im not alone. Rest in peace Bigred and one day we will all be with you to ride again.
