More truck talk. All-electric Ford F150 Lightning.

What happens to the range when you want to tow/haul something? Are these going to turn into urban Jeeps too?

Cool technology but like all other modern trucks, too big and too hard to see out of.

See my towing post above. It does look like the Lightning will attempt to predict range considering payload, towing, ect. Hopefully route planing will take into account hill climbing.

I wonder out of all the trucks that are bought each year how many are actually used for towing.

Just like the way everybody who buys sport cars must race and do track days...

It’s like things can’t have a multi purpose use or something...

I just find trucks more comfortable than cars. I do tow from time to time, though. Not 10,000 pound trailers, though.

Never said things must have singular purpose. To use your analogy with sports cars. Some people might not care about a feature that is only useful on a track or a are willing to deal with lack of it on super rare occasions they go to the track. If majority of buyers in that category then it might not impact sales.

Sports cars are nice to look at and fun to drive once in a while but I don’t need to own one and certainly don’t want one as a daily driver.

The other interesting part of the Lightning, besides the fact that it's somehow faster than the Raptor, is that it has an all-new independent rear suspension. Sounds like it will handle pretty well too.

I would like to see that suspension. In a former life, I was a suspension engineer.

I reserved a spot last week. Seem like it will fill my needs.
Mostly all short range hops and lite duty hauling.

See below...

This. It's called pivot steer in the tank world. Skid steer is an industry term in the civilian world.

And in the Car World, where they do it with wheels, not tracks, it is a Tank Turn, because Tanks can do a pivot turn. :)

Pretty cool info in this video I haven’t seen anywhere else. So many plugs on this thing… and the estimated range is interesting. The epa rating is 300 miles…. With 1000 lbs in the bed. The tester wasn’t fully charged in the video and it had over 350 miles left of range.
