NFL 2020

So you like Mullens better as the Starter? facinating.

I for one am glad that the rivalry is back. The Niners really haven't been shit for 20 years and the Rams were fucking around in Missouri so who cares anyway?

For the last few years both teams have been putting up some pretty good ball clubs and SF is trying to murder L.A. again and that shit just feels right to me.

Objectively, he shouldn’t be considered better but he is getting more even and gaining confidence. But I kept playing out this larger scenario in my mind watching him and wondering: how much does it get to these guys whether they are considered starters or backups? Does it become a psychological advantage and confidence booster to be called a starter. Like I said, Mullens is short and it's a problem only made up for by diligence and talent. But I started "believing" watching him this last game.

Ill eat my words if he stinks it up next week. We wont see jimmy for a long while anyway. Mullens either grows into this now or ends up the bridesmaid forever. Sorta worked out for Foles.

But yeah, rivalry does seem to be back!

Meanwhile, the entire Philly offense seems to have a drinking problem. Talk about bad communication. Defense played their guts out. They were gettin to Wilson yeah boyee.

There’s an nfl team in Dallas? Where? Nyuk.

Oh hell yeah

I don't know, Joe Judge seems to be doing pretty good job of stamping out the dumpster fire that is the New York Football Giants...

but on that note, I would like to call all fans of the sport to come together in a thankful moment, from high and from low to stand together and rejoice in in how fuck-stank, bog-rotten, and suffering the Dallas Cowboys are right now.

Can I get an Amen Brothers and Sisters? Fuck Dallas, Hallelujah!

Amen and rejoice brother! And who’s the SOB that started calling them America’s Team?:twofinger

It seemed like their offensive game planning consisted of throwing darts at the play sheet and selecting the ones they hit. The only spark they got was when Wentz started scrambling at the end of the first half.

Right, but with the holding calls and the receivers misreading the routes, it felt like somebody should get fired. What a mess. I loved the rushers goin after Wilson, for obvious reasons....But damn, that Metcalf is like Beastmode Deux. Whatta stud.

We must be watching 2 completely different games.

Mullens is fucking awful.

There's a reason there were NO medium/deep passes. He can't make NFL throws. Hell, his longest pass of the day was a handoff that was called a pass because it "technically" was pitched forward 1 foot. :rolleyes

At least half the game I was screaming for Beathard to come in. That's how bad it was. When you see receivers visibly upset on the field after a missed throw, you know shit aint right.

QB may be an issue going forward because when Jimmy is out there's no good option.

...and Jimmy is out too much. The glass man who never gets a call for roughing the passer unless someone tears off one of his limbs and starts beating him with it.

Jimmy overthrows his receivers half the time as it is and gets paid five times more to do it wrong. I think Mullens is getting MORE accurate on mid and short passes because he is calming down. That last sequence was pretty damn good.

It feels dishonorable to say so but I think jimmy is finished with this team. Or they are finished with him. And I would have disagreed even a month ago but Shanahan's system doesn't need a star QB, but someone who can stay cool and follow directions. To me, Mullens is getting there. If Mostert and Deebo stay healthy, they will make Wild Card.

So you are rooting for Big Blue on Sunday? :teeth

Me personally, I do not see how you possibly get out from under Grapp next year. Even if it is time, even if you are ready to find the next guy, this guy is still under contract and took you to a Superbowl last year.

I mean, maybe you draft the future QB next year, but you do not let your proven starter go before you take a season to make sure the new guy is for real like they did with Mahomey.

The radio guys keep saying there is some trapdoor in his contract, I dunno. And this really is Mullens second year. Either he smooths out and becomes consistent or he is gone too. They will know soon. It seems that way.

The talking heads keep saying Garoppolo is out, and I have been the skeptic...but who knows, maybe it's just hot takes for listeners/

No, they could axe him, the contract is well designed, the point is rather that you do not have to negotiate a new deal with him. The Bro is on an existing deal and takes you to Superbowls? Denver would literally let you climb inside of John Elway's cornhole and wear it like a sleeping bag to be in that position.

Literally the only real complaint about him as that he is fragile.

They can cut Jimmy G and it only costs them like 2M in cap. They frontloaded the hell out of his contract and gave him a massive signing bonus.

Mullens is not a starting quality QB. He doesn't have the arm and he can't make throws into windows he needs to. Like I said - receivers were visibly mad when he missed them on throws. That's a bad sign. He misses EASY throws that NFL QBs should make.

Thankfully, now they're saying Kittle and Jimmy could both potentially be back for weeks 16 and 17. That would be absolutely huge. 8-8 or 9-7 could potentially sneak in with the expanded playoffs.

I don't buy that he's fragile.

He tore his ACL. that can happen to anybody.

then he fractured his ankle on a shitty late tackle when his toe got caught on shitty turf, came back from it early, and then got put on the shelf to actually get healthy.

2 major injuries but both of them were freak accidents. It's not like he keeps pulling his hamstring over and over

:laughing
Did we just become best friends?
yup!

I haven't done a game there yet.

Not sure I can travel by then but we'll see.

I'm a New York Giants fan. If you don't start for 15 years straight without an injury, you're fragile.

:x

tell that to saquon

I'm questioning if he is worth keeping beyond the rookie contract. He just isn't a 3 down back.

Dude is nitroglycerin. He can level your enemies, but the odds of blowing himself up just doesn't seem to make it worth investing very much.

He has 2021 to prove if he really is The Savior. If he gets hurt again or performs poorly, let Miami put him back behind Erick Flowers. :laughing
