NFL 2021

:laughing Are you suggesting that East Rutherford is part of the Newark greater metropolitan area?

Have you ever even been to the City? Know the people at all? Give me a fucking break. You can see downtown from the fucking swamp the ballpark was built in. It is literally 5 miles from downtown.

:dunno

Silicon Valley people are fucking NOT part of San Francisco Culture. Anyone who is actually from here knows that shit. :dunno

Are you just pretending to be local, or something?

Yeah, I was in Seaside Park last Saturday and hung out on Midway Beach.

Gatekeep harder.

That's not what I asked you. I mean, Jesus christ, did you go to Atlantic City too? That shit is all way out in Joisey, you're practically in Eagles country. What is that, like 2 hours from the City? I'm talking about the City here.

^ The New York Giants still play in Jersey Bro.

And really no one cares except that you like to point out that the S.F. Niners play in Santa Clara every chance you get. Sooooo..... Ya know pot meet kettle and all.

Nah, that ain't it at all. If the Niners had built in Daly City, Colma, South City, whatever, really anything north of San Mateo, it still could have been legit. South of San Mateo, that is Silicon Valley shit.

San Jose people are a different culture. It is a bigger City with more money. I mean how many times do they even get their heads of City infrastructure arrested for corruption by the Feds?

Silicon Valley people have probably never even had to swim over a tidal wave of human feces past a Gimp screaming because he lost his owner, just to get to their BART Station.

(Speaking of which, Fulsom was back last weekend. This USED to be the Niners: https://sfist.com/2021/09/27/nsfw-p...-2021-was-a-return-to-true-form-and-irl-kink/ )

They could have stayed part of City Culture in the SF metro area, but they didn't. They wanted more money from a big old rabid San Jose Sharks fanbase. They can go to Silicon Valley and that is fine, but if the are going to be the San Jose 49ers, they need to knock the City by the Bay out of their mouth.

I stand with all my Bay Area native cousins who burned their season ticket holder gear when the Niners left the Bay. All kind of Surenos bullshit going on down there.

Wow, now that's a hot take! Ha.

What made me laugh is that in the time it took to conceive and finally build the damn thing, the digerati decided they WANTED to be up in SF and NOT down there. All the real estate went up, residential and commercial.

If only they'd had the vision to understand that.

I mean, an Ohio mall developer isn't exactly the hippest outfit for us white whiners. If only that SalesPenisForce guy would have stepped in. Probably would have built a floating arena on top of SF Financial district.

Thing is, it's such a failure of a facility we may live long enough to see one come up further north. Cheezy building in a cheezy place. And it's really funny that they can't play past 10 at night. Somehow I think that wouldn't have been the case up here.

When would they ever play past 10 at night?

No, they want to generate more revenue with concerts and shit. Even As and Giants games go later than 10, especially on fireworks nights.

Football is not enough, even in a football stadium, as we have seen.

Editing in: Oh I see, I said play. I meant rock bands and other revenue enhancements.

My guys just proved that you can’t play offense for only 35 minutes a game and expect to win against good teams.

All in all it was a decent game. Anyone but someone like ARogers would have folded up with only 37s left. I’m cool that. Two things that keep leaping out at me: DeMeco needs to be a quicker study. Yeah, the secondary is depleted. There is still a front seven most teams only dream about. He needs to get more creative to get more out of the plethora of talent still at his disposal.

And the offense needs to settle in sooner than 3 minutes to go in the first half. That shit ain’t gonna cut it against teams like the Rams and Seahags.

Yeah, I mean, like I said, San Jose has a WAY bigger population and is way more into sports as a general rule, but the bigger population base also offers more opportunities for concerts and shit. Why stay with SFO in the Bay when you can run shit through SJC? So they were trying to capitalize on all of that as a way to maximize benefit of leaving the Fog, but they fucked up because

A) Everything I hear seems to indicate that the ballpark is a swift sentence to death by incineration during the day (design did not understand that Silicon Valley Sun is a terror with no escape)

and

B) They didn't count on the Santa Clara noise Nazi's gestapoing up into their exciting plans. They assumed that Santa Clara people would have the same, "STFU and give me my cut" revenue based attitude that SF had when trying to throw a Paul McCartney concert on a Wednesday night. Major miscalculation. They should have talked more to Great America about being terrorized by local noise restrictions. :laughing

I would be surprised if they went back North though.

Why is the 49ers' logo still an SF? What does it stand for now?

Sorry, we're changing back:

Trying to figure out whether Eldritch wanted the Cowboys or the Eagles to lose more. Pretty sad night for ol Hurtin Hurts.

Who's 3-0? That's right...

The RAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIDERRRRRRRRRZZZZZ!

:banana the Dolphins really, really wanted to win that game. Their defense was a lot more stout than I remember.

Great win. spotted them 2 tds and a missed extra point, but found a way to make it happen. Like Gruden said, I'm not going to apologize for close wins. BTW...way to stick with the run, Gru! It wasn't looking good but it ended up gassing the dolphins D. Got a little too conservative there in the middle of the 4th but give credit to Brissett for some gutsy play.

PI calls all over the league are a little out of control. the 9er game was a perfect example. Call a PI when Adams couldn't even catch it, yet miss a cringy helmet-to-helmet later in the game.

Payback for last year when the fish had Fitzmagic McGregor and those last few crazy minutes....

That is a terrible dilemma every weekend. Mainly 2 times a year when those guys play I just shake my fists and scream at the sky for the duration of the game.

Well, as long as one team gets humiliated and/or humbled I guess. And Philly definitely got that last night. It's hard for me to hate ol Dak.

Not sure you watched the game last night. At the very end, when they were doing the "victory" formation to finish the clock, the offense did that old Cowboys thing where they stood up then crouched back down before the hike. You would have really hated that; they did it twice. I thought it was stupid all those decades ago because nobody else ever did it. For old times sake.:laughing:laughing Been gaggin on America's Team for all these many years.

DID ANYONE TELL YOU HE PLAYS FOR THE FUCKING COWGIRLS???

:mad :rant :mad :rant

I feel like as we all gather round here to talk some ball, the only thing we can all agree on together, for a myriad of different reason is FUCK DALLAS.

I mean, I'm even kind of rooting for Andy Reid these days now that his legacy is secured as a Chief forever.

I don't care how nice you are. If you wear silver and blue or green and white, GTFO.

I really like Terry Crews but it took a while and a few movies before I could forgive him for being a Redskin. :laughing
