Nah, Fuck the Giants is actually a bit higher on my gives a fuck stick these days thanks in no small part to your overwhelming efforts.
(I can't stand any NY team in any sport, but I did like the Jets when Herm Edwards coached them.)

The Jets? The place where athletes dreams are crushed for a forever second choice team? Haven't really paid much attention since Namath. They remind me of a 70s kitchen appliance complete with cheezy color. I can't believe that there are actual Jets fans out there unless right there in New Jersey or because they have some grudge against the Giants. It's just weird. Who would wake up in the morning and decide to like the Jets? I think its better to be indifferent to both teams than to be a Jets fan.

Herm Edwards is from here, and his story is very "Monterey", African American father in the military married a German woman, the Army would often station inter-racial couples at Fort Ord rather than in the southern bases at that time. A lot of my friends growing up were like that.
When I was a kid I saw him play for Monterey High School, he was a star on his team. There was a buzz when he made it to NFL, and while his career wasn't stellar, it was consistently good. He did, however, have one of the greatest plays of the 70's when he helped the Eagles beat the NY Giants with the "Miracle at the Meadowlands" play.
He's a good dude, ran a football camp at CSUMB (located on the Fort Ord site) for kids that couldn't afford to attend other camps and enticed NFL players to come donate their time with rounds of golf at Pebble and the ultra exclusive Cypress Point. (Peyton and Eli Manning, Rice, Young, a few others...)
(I couldn't root for him in 1980, though, since his only SB appearance was against the Raiders.)
Ron Rivera also had a similar story, his dad was Army at Fort Ord, and he went to Seaside High. He was huge as a high school player, like scary huge....![]()
We knew he was working towards it when that video came out, but Richard Sherman is now a "Florida Man"....

You know that there are Clippers Fans in L.A., right? You know that there are Clippers Fans in L.A., right?
The Jets tend to attract more blue collar worker rubbish type fans, hence the fireman hats and shit. In my experience they are more from out on Long Island.
Joisey is sort of split between Giants and Eagels fans, so everyone just sort of chooses a side, because the rivalry is so hot there.
Seems like there is also a small contingent of people near the border in North West Joisey that choose not to participate in almost 100 years of hate and just go with being Steelers fans. You weirdly almost never see them go for Buffalo though.
I mean, I'm even kind of rooting for Andy Reid these days now that his legacy is secured as a Chief forever.
I didn't know those guys could afford Long Island homes? Huh. On my trips back East, never made it there so I dunno, I thought it was all Hampton-y.
Learn something everyday. But I could see Burlington types being Eagles fan for example. Proximity n all.
Umm... Fuck the chiefs.]
There are a few exceptions. Fuck the Jets, Fuck Boston, and go Steelers (I guess).^ I'll be in the deep South Jersey next week. It's iggles country. Hating North Jersey/New York is only slightly less important than hating Dallas.

I'm enjoying watching the Steelers flounder so far, of course, but they've got a huge problem on their hands, and his name is Ben.
