Official BARF BEER Crew

my local bowling alley temporarily upgraded their IPA from Torpedo to Goose Island. My plan is to drink the shit out of it to show there's a big demand for better IPA selections.

Waiting for pics of B4B shit face and planked on the bowling room floor.

Drakes came out with a Barrel Age Drakonic.

I went in and bought a 6 pack.

Tried this yesterday for the first time and thought I'd hate it as it's labeled "Brown Shugga Substitute" and I don't really like Brown Shugga as is too sweet for my tast.

But double thumbs up; love this beer.

Just watch it. That stuff will kill ya. I know, having survived a kegerator party with it that bested several grown men. I dunno what it is but you can drink a stronger IPA and be fine. That stuff will send you spinnin' and retchin.....delicious going down, tho.

1.085 og and only 7.8% abv?! that must be pretty sweet, yes?

That's what I was afraid of but, no, not to sweet for my tastes.

$32/case at Costco now, (in Santa Rosa, not sure about other Bay area locations).

Lagunitas IPA is $24/case which is what I usually buy.

If it continues to be available I'll definitely be getting more despite the rather steep premium.

Went to the Hop Grenade in Concord. Place is cool, They have a really wide selection of beers on tap and they show how much beer is left in each keg.

Lagunitas sucks is one of the best IPAs ever.

I really wanted to like this place. But the two ties I went there, the service was so horrendous I refuse to go back. Of course, the table next to us, the one with the two hot chicks, yeah they couldn't get the waiter to leave them alone. The rest of the tables were ignored altogether. Both fucking times.

Just got back from Kernville (ADVrider WARPED Rally). I picked-up three 1/2-barrels of beer from Figueroa Mountain in Buellton on the way there. All three were fantastic, perfectly balanced beers. It's good to see breweries making tasty stuff instead of competing to see who can cram the most hops into a beer. :thumbup

Kern River Brewing in Kernville also makes some pretty tasty brew. :thumbup

The same thing happen the first time when we went there. We did go on a crowded day because Winter beer Fest was happening across the street. We just ended up leaving. This time we went when the place wasn't crowded and we got great service. Probably should go there on a non busy day.

Under staffing at peak business hours and/or ignoring customers is a surefire recipe for failure.

Had a Warsteiner Dunkel and Warsteiner Lager at dinner the other night at a local, and excellent, German restaurant, Cafe Europe.

Hard to beat a fresh glass of German beer on tap if you ask me.

No American beer of that style comes close IMHO.

They're even better when sampled at/near the source. :teeth

Going to Berlin to see my sonnyboy this summer. Berlin, Dresden, Prague and probably other places. So yes, I will verify this for myself.
