Official BARF BEER Crew

Yup, I believe it. Last time I was in London, it was all hoppy American style beers and flavorless ice-cold lagers. Hard to find a good English pint now, it seems. :thumbdown

A travesty for all beer lovers.

But English cask ales are still available but not as popular from what my brother says.

He lived there for almost 10 years recently and said the traditional English Ales were derided by the foolish 20/30 something crowd as "old man's beer."

They'll learn.

He says that particular age group's number one priority in a beer is to get shitfaced as fast as possible.

I love hoppy beers, don't get me wrong, but I value variety and traditional beers unique to individual countries as well.

The only beers I truly abhor, (and I know some folks love them as it suits their taste, which is fine) are Wheats, beers with fruit and whatnot in them and, most of all, sours! :bigbarf

The paper is off the windows. I hear the soft opening is happening over the next couple days. Something like 15 beers on tap and 9 different brats.

Sweet! They took forever to open. I thought they were going to close because it's been almost a year since they started. Going tomorrow.

Drove by it today. Looks like a place where I have to wear a button down collar shirt and skinny blue jeans.

You didn't go in? Neither did I. Maybe this week. In the meantime I had a couple of these 11%ers. Chicks not included lol

I just ended a self-imposed two week alcohol/sugar/carb ban on Sunday. I do that every once in a while to keep my hobbies in check, although two weeks is a bit on the long side for my fasts. The end result was as expected: a new appreciation for the foamy goodness, and a lowered tolerance. I was feeling it after 1, and righteously sloshed after 4 pints. win-win!

Tried to go to Lagunitas just after they opened Friday at 2pm and the parking lot was full so headed to Fogbelt Brewery which was thankfully not crowded and the beer was excellent...as usual.

Hidden gem.

They own their own hopyard.

If you all haven't been, I suggest a visit to Faction brewery in Alameda.

Faction is darned tasty (and right across the parking lot from St. George's :drool)

It is pretty new, but they are making some great beers! And I think they have a food truck rotation.

I did. lol. They had the doors unlock and I walked in and the owner said "Sorry, we are not open yet. In a couple of weeks." I was like wtf. I want some sausage damn it!

I been there a couple of times. I think they been open for more than a year. I went there when they first open and then I visited a couple of weeks and their beer selection change a lot or just a lot more. I like most the beers that come from that place. You get an awesome view of the city.

Whats on the menu for tonight sir? Listening to heavy metal whilst drinking heavy metal!

Beer update:
The Rare Barrel had their Ambassador meet the other day. It was cool. They did a tour in the back where they keep all the barrels and let us sample some beer straight from the barrel. It was interesting. Finish product is way better.

Won this bottle from the raffle they had back in December and I finally drank it on Memorial weekend. Pretty damn delicious.

I dont know about the or xata. It didnt taste much like horchata except for a little cinnamon. But when i burped it was exactly like horchata haha. Too weird.

I smelled the cinnamon right away but taste the vanilla. It's a good light blonde ale.
