$11 is kind of high for not being a barrel age. I just bought Schubros Inverness Wee Heavy for $15. Let you guys know how it taste when I pop it.

I need to visit Track 7

:staRang My drinking claim to fame. Damnation bottle #4. 20l.

I believe that is a 5 liter bottle, if memory serves. It definitely isn't 20 liters, as that would be in excess of 5 gallons. Tasty stuff, though. :thumbup

Going to Berlin to see my sonnyboy this summer. Berlin, Dresden, Prague and probably other places. So yes, I will verify this for myself.

Beers, brats (of all sorts), belches....

I'm VERY excited!!!!!

Sounds fun. Hope you find some great suds to share with your son. :thumbup

I'm going to Italy this summer with my wife. Never been there. Been doing much research and have an itinerary, but still am unsure about what to expect other than I know it'll be much fun.

Not sure about Italian beers. Anyone have any info?

There is actually a pretty decent craft beer movement in Northern Italy these days. Most towns have at least one decent brewery. It's not just Peroni anymore. :thumbup

That's what I was hoping for!! I keep an eye open. I've had Peroni, and it's ok. Seems kinda like the Budweiser of Italy to me, but when it comes to Italian beers, I got nuthin'. :p

I was traveling around that area two years ago and it was juuuuussst starting to emerge and it was really hit/miss, but it was clear the demand is there. Maybe it's time to go back....for research. I did find some Brewfist at Pig & Pickle recently (well, within the last 6 months...), that was a surprise.

I'm curious about what kinds of beers to expect in Italy? I'm a hop head first, but love most ales; and pilsners, lagers, and wheats. Do you recall what they're brewing, or is it all over the map?

Everything i found that was decent was lagers or belgian ale styles. But again, that was a couple years ago.

Yeah, there will be a lot of mild lagers. I had some neat chestnut aged browns and a few really tasty Belgian style beers as well. If you are a hophead, you might be out of luck, but it wouldn't hurt to look around. I found a place a couple of years back in Greece (Santorini) that was started by a couple of dudes from the Pacific Northwest. They had a lot of really hoppy stuff. Not sure how well it was selling, though. :laughing

Believe it or not, hoppy American style beers brewed locally are now HUGE in the UK. Actually brewed with American hops.

As a Brit that is a bit shocking, to be honest.
