Old Porsche prices are crazy

I can't find a pic of the Carrera 3.0 that CJ referenced, but I still have this one. I prolly could not get much for it on the market because it is not stock. It has some other engine in it, like a 993, that decreases its value considerably.
Go figure.

You juat have to find the right goofball. I'll give youb $500 for it right now!

944s are neat little cars, but it's no 911 and who wants to change timing belts all the time?

Or just the cost of parts.... for a car that wont outrun a Miata under 90 mph. :laughing I sold my last Porsche, the 97 924s and bought a used Miata while I saved money for my first house. The 87 924s had the 944 motor, chassis, and underpinnings with the old body/interior. Honestly quicker and more fun than the 944.

I know die hard Porsche fans will cringe, but the Miata was a better car IMO. Helped that it cost me pennies on the dollar when compared to any Porsche I purchased and owned. :dunno

While the 911 was definitely a different and memorable driving experience, its the only one I'd want again but not at these prices.

I remember a couple of Barfers who bought a 928 non running cheap and thought they got a great deal on a future track car. :rofl

er, one of them.
I dunno, bought it for 11K and sold if for 14k in a couple hours,
I kinda liked it because it wa much heavier than my other Carrera, which was pretty darty...

I stuck in my buddies garage when he was gone, didn't tell him, and he found it when he got home, keys and registration on the dash. I am just that kinda guy.

Note to self. Leave Butch with a set of keys to my garage with address engraved on them. :twofinger

BTW, I appreciate 914-6's...... and dont care if the motor isnt stock. :teeth

I DD a 944 turbo I bought for $5K. No its not as cheap to run as a Miata but then again it isn't a Miata, lol.

I use it for everything. Its my dog car. Its my grocery getter. And it still goes like stink. Faster than the 911 of the same era; will do 0-60 in about 5.5 seconds and tops out over 140. Handles better than a 911 as well.

Don't get me wrong, I still love my early, light 911 but for affordable, tractable, and useable the 944T fits my requirements pretty good. As far as timing belts go, I know a guy who can knock 'em out pretty easily :wink

+1 on 944 Turbos. If they're giving them away I'd take a 911, but if I'm buying and maintaining it, especially for a daily driver, I go for a 944T. Very comfortable and versatile cars.

911's are butt ugly little snakes.

I took a ride in a great condition '56 356 1600 Super Cabriolet a few months ago. Not a speedster but still a beaut. It's got a Super 90 engine that's smooth & strong. I've seen prices ranging from $126k up to over $200k for pristine.

Already sold. Damn. Nothing a turn of screwdriver can't fix.
