It's good that you don't get in too deep if it doesn't work out man. I get that you are trying to be realistic and logical about this.

I can't say I can do the same. There's a big irrational part in me that always try justify, deny, and try to make things work until it hurts when there are OTHER options out there. My dumb-ass reptile brain says things like "yeah but the one within the zipcode is boring, go for the one from half-way around the world"

Protip: That's not really that bad of an area, and the key to not getting jumped is situational awareness. If you're alert, walking briskly, and keeping your eyes moving, even the hoods won't touch you. They're looking for an easy mark, if you look like you're paying attention at all, they take a pass. This is true all over the world.

Dubs, I don't know you at all, but it sure seems to me that you are making up excuses here. Do you like her? Does she like you? Well fuck, if so, there you go. What else is there? I'd walk through Hunters Point at 2 in the morning, with a bag of money around my neck, to go on a date with Cootz or Connie (or even better, both). Her living situation is temporary anyway, especially if you guys really get along.
