Porsche Panamera S ?

I've decided to skip the panny, and wait a bit for a 997TT. I decided to pass on a 996TT because of the interior.

I've always lusted after the 996TT and I will eventually have one as a daily driver. I got "permission" to buy one last year, just haven't been able to internally justify it as a daily but I am close.

Not really. My taco was damn near 40K. Trucks are pricey nowadays.

yeah, I'm well aware all new trucks are pretty expensive but it depends on what you buy as well. I was going to replace the ranger with a Colorado this year, but with the new Ranger coming out... I'm going to wait until a change gets forced upon me.

The headlights are the deal breaker for me. Yeah, I know minor, but freaking ugly.

I never understood the animosity the headlights get

this

$47k buys a whole lot of truck and new motos :laughing

It totally does. Car's worth around $52-55K on the open market. Prices are increasing on that one model for the sole reason of: there is no replacement for it. I'd expect it to be worth about $60K in two years with 10-20K miles.

Bwahaha! I joined the Corvette Forum and was shocked to see more than one thread similar to this:
"Posting from my phone. Locked in car, left keys on workbench".

We have the same latching system in the DD, and got an "URGENT" snailmail from GM on bright yellow paper, explaining how to get out of the car. I got a similar letter within a few months after the guy lost his life in Tennessee.

Somebody fucking died? Wat?

I see examples of it everyday. But it still never ceases to amaze me how many people have no clue how to operate all of the buttons, switches, and handles of their vehicles. At least once a week I'll get some soccer mom (or dad) pull in complaining about some noise under the hood. I'll ask them to open the hood, and it becomes this embarrassing rain dance they do because it's obvious they've never opened the hood before and have no idea where the handle is.

And then find out the hood has been popped for that last X,xxx miles and that was the noise. :laughing

blame it on the boxster.

How does that guy die when people are trying to get him out? Was that Darwinism? Wouldn't break window to keep car pristine?

If it was a manual transmission even if you didn't have a buyer lined up it would be a fast flip if you wanted to sell it. Sit on it for a few years and it will go up in value.

Why does the Cayman look so much better than a Boxster yet have so much styling in common.

Because the roofline changes the look of the car from every angle compared to the Boxster, especially on the outgoing 981 model. When they transitioned from the 987 to the current 981, they picked up a number of styling clues from the older 911's, particularly in how the roof blends into into the rear haunches of the car. The Boxter doesn't have a sloping roof so it can't do that.

The new 718 improved on it even more IMO. Shame it now has a turbo four banger.

Here's a pic of a Cayman S. From this angle you can see how they made it look more 911esque. It now has a single slopeline in the back that runs all the way through the tail, rather than two angles, one for the roof and one for the rear haunches.

If it weren't for the side coves, that'd be awful damn close to my eyes.

The Cayman looks nothing like a 911 to me.

Agree to an extent, but they're a lot closer than they were when the Cayman was first introduced and had a shape unique to that model. Over time it has been brought to look more classic Porsche through the evolution toward a more classic 911 look, similar to the older 911s more so than the current 991. The 981 was a big step in that direction. It's still a very distinct look, but more Porsche and light years better IMO than the 986/987 body shape. Not to mention the interiors are now the same as the Carrera; much nicer.

I like the cayman shape. We have tons here at work and always admire them. The rear quarter window and side vents are so pronounced to me that they don't scream 911 to me.
