Lester-

I agree with your statements about all that bling being counterproductive, but I think that a lot of it is about 'Marketing' themselves for potential endorsements,,,,?

They only get so much camera time, so they are trying to make the best of it????

Slightly off topic:
Today I split past a Kia Rio.
I forgot those cars even existed and it got me thinking.
My question is will the name be changed for the upcoming model year?
The Kia Shitpool comes immediately to mind.
(this is probably one of the reasons I'm not in marketing)

The next games will be held in Japan. I predict a significantly better experience for everyone involved.

Totally corrupt IOC awards 2016 to one of the World's least capable countries - and yet it turned out not too shabby!

As a Brit, have to say I'm amazed at my country's performance. It turns out that supporting and funding athletes actually works!! Who knew LOL

So the entire boxing association running the tournament seems to be corrupt.

THis Irish boxer turned his opponents face into hamburger to the point where he has to drop out of the tournament. Guess who was judged to have won the fight? The Hamburger Faced man. And guess what? You're not allowed to appeal. Oh, but by coincidence, they just removed a ton of refs and judges...but there's no corruption!

Olympics are pathetic.

Have great day Jordan.

I didn't see the fight or any of the Olympic boxing other than one or two matches so I can't comment on how it went or what the fight metrics look like but physical appearance at the end of the fight is definitely not always an indicator of who won. Some people have a propensity to bruise and bleed more than others.

Maybe it's just corrupt/biased judging. Wouldn't be the first time. I'm reading the news on it now just out of curiosity of what's going on but the more busted up guy is definitely not the loser of a fight based on that alone.

conlan beat the brakes off him in the 2nd and third in addition to messing his face up.

Boxing is a fighting sport. Your goal is to hit your opponent in the head, face and body until they literally cannot stand (amazing it is still a legal sport...). If you punch the other person to the point where they cannot continue to fight because their entire face is badly busted, and you are FINE, there is something wrong with the judging.

Do you think an organization haphazardly suspends or fires refs and judges because they concluded everything is fine?

I already said I haven't seen the fight yet or done all the research on the particular issue. Why ask me a question I already admitted I don't have an informed answer to yet?

Only responded to your assumption that if Fighter A looks worse, then he lost when that's not necessarily true in combat sports.

He not only "looked" worse but had to drop out of future fights due to injury from fighting. If one fighter can stand and fight again and the other fighter cannot I think it's suspicious if the one who can't go on "wins".
