The Official 2015/2016 NFL Thread

I forgot how much I much I miss hot 80's chicks with voodoo poodle doos lookin' like they just stepped out of a Nagel poster.... :laughing

Well, since they are the three most interesting teams to me in this thread let's have some calls made.

Niners: Championship caliber team that appears to have completley disintegrated in the off season after struggling last year due to failed leadership and internal politics

NY Giants: Mediocre at best last year, an absolute horror story of injuries and one megastar rookie that started late (injury also) gives this team hope that this next season can be better (if healthy?), despite what appears to be glaring holes on both sides of the line and a typically inactive free agent season.

Raiders - Clearly the worst of the bunch last year, the very exciting development of young talent on this long troubled franchise gives the strong feeling that this is a team turning the corner and it may be able to explode onto the scene of real competitiors next year, but does the ghost of Al Davis somehow still inflict his Loser's Curse on the new era?

So how about some predictions? Call it, who will have the best, worst and middle record of the three. Care to call an end of season standing?

WHAT SAY YOU?

Too early to tell for me. I can make better, bad predictions in late August. But for kicks and giggles...I'll say KC wins the AFC west followed by the Raidahs. The Chargers fall apart as does Denver because Peyton doesn't last the first quarter of the season.

The 9ers fall to last place in the NFC West where the Cardinals dethrone Seattle and the Rams finally put a winning season together.

Houston wins the AFC South because the colts have a 30 year old running back.

Ryan becomes extremely obnoxious again because the Bills play really well but still lose the division to the Patriots. Miami doesn't improve and no one cares about the jets.

No one cares about the entire NFC south

The Bengals win the AFC North. Pitt won't suck enough to my liking, but Balt will.

Mike Zimmer gets the Vikings over the hump but not enough to beat the packers.

How's that?

Fun stuff, I think Miami will actually have improved though. They have had a pretty active off season and brought in real talent. An 8-8 team could improve to a winner with the addition of Suh alone. I don't think they can beat Boston though.

alright

NFC South: Carolina will move past the Hardy debacle and win it again. They picked up Oher to bolster a shaky o-line. they'll address a big need at WR in the draft. Atlanta will give them a run but will end up out of the playoffs at 9-7. Tampa will improve but finish 3rd. NO will rue not moving Brees, he'll get hurt and they'll end up 4-12.

NFC East: Philly's offense will prove too much to overcome in the regular season and will win it. Romo will try to do too much without Murray and get his ribs or collarbone broke early in the season. the Giants will get back to a respectable record but glaring holes on defense will be their downfall.

NFC North: Packers by a mile.

NFC West: Seattle players as a whole will shut up a little after being humbled in the superbowl and destroy the regular season with brutal efficiency. Arizona and St. Louis will go in as wildcards. the 49ers will feel good about going 8-8 and will claim Tomsula's just as good of a coach as Harbaugh.

AFC South: Colts win because they have the best QB by far in the division who saves their bacon over and over. Texans prove you can do everything right but if you don't have a solid QB there's simply no chance these days. Titans go 8-8 with a LeBeau-led defense.

AFC East: The Bills d-line stays healthy and the improvement to the offense is enough to win it. the Pats regress due to injury and no run-stuffing replacement for Wilfork, thus lose key possession time, taking the ball out of Brady's hands more often and coming up short in close games. They make the wildcard though. The Dolphins and Jets play well but the division proves to be too tough.

AFC North: Pittsburgh won't hemorrage so many games early in the season and will take the division by at least 3 games. Cinci will miss the playoffs and wholesale changes ensue. Baltimore regresses as they continue to clean house of felonius players. The only entertainment the Browns give is watching Manziel make a fool of himself.

AFC West: Manning comes out firing to prove he still has a little left, and outguns opponents for the division title. KC gets the wildcard but trouble brews as Maclin catches only 2 TDs, both just 5 yards out. Oakland fans rejoice with a 7-9 record because Carr plays out of his mind and the defense gets slightly better (will still rank bottom-10). San Diego's wheels fall off with injury and their 4th quarter magic dries up.

Owners just voted to lift blackout restrictions for the year.

Woohoo!!

Edit: Wait.. what exactly does that mean? Will we get the Raiders and Niners both at 10am (away games) and nothing at 1PM? (or vice versa for home games?)

don't think so. what you're describing is a territorial thing, i.e. two teams playing in the same territory get scheduled at different times.

this vote is about blacking out the game because of attendance.

please correct if I'm wrong.

I agree with Dan

Looks pretty solid, but I think the suggestion that the NFC South will produce multiple winning record teams next year is a little too optimistic.

Owners just voted to lift blackout restrictions for the year.

Silly revenue tricks to help the Raiders stay in Oakland for another year while they settle someone else in L.A.?

so Niners are looking at Lance Briggs? that's about 5 years too late lol.

I'd prefer they switch over to the little used, and under appreciated, 5-2 alignment. or even the 6-1.

go away, Briggs.

Ah c'mon. Might not be a bad transition guy for a 1 year deal while they rebuild their collapsed LB corps.

Briggs would just be depth, but he quit on his team. Looks like Bowman/Wilhoite in the middle barring more retirements, with Aldon/Lynch on the outside and Ahmad Brooks kept as a rotational guy.

See, that isn't a bad line up. Not the beast from when Borland and Willis were going to be stacking up in the box with them, but a decent midfield if your backfield doesn't need you to pick up their slack too much.

yea, once the shock of HOLY SHIT WHY DO ALL THESE GUYS KEEP LEAVING wore off, there's still a solid lineup of guys.

nfl thread falls to page 3...has that happened, ever?

Cleveland GM suspended 4 games for texting
Falcons lose a draft pick for piping in noise
SF looking to pick up Briggs...the same guy they had to swap to a lower pick with Chicago for 'tampering'.
