Troy had some amazing moments but I think injuries and a relatively early career will hurt his HOF chances. especially trying to go in as a hard-hitting safety. for about 8 years though, he was nails.

Do not underestimate the influnece of the Rooney Family.

I doubt he'll have any problems getting in with his resume.

Yeah, if you're a Rooney, a Mara, a Halas-McCaskey, certain big old names, shit gets done just a little bit more for you in the NFL.

I think Palamalu won't need behind the scenes mechinations to get in; he was the face of and leader on a team that went to 3 Super Bowls, his teams had a solid winning percentage, he's got a squeaky clean off the field reputation, and while the football HOF isn't the basketball HOF (seems like anyone can get in), it isn't the baseball HOF either (notoriously difficult).

Now when Brian Urlacher comes up, you may have something... :laughing

Looks like Crabtree won't have to sell his house in the Bay Area

yeah Crabtree's not all as much as he thought he was, but he comes to Oakland as the best option for Carr. the radio was blasting him for only catching 68 balls for a little over 700 yards...instantly putting him 2nd in catches and 1st in yardage on the team. While I figure they'll add a WR or two in the draft, this move isn't the worst McKenzie could do.

Hey Crabs, don't show too much excitement, ok? :rolleyes

East Bay is nothing anyone should ever be proud of. He knows he has been downgraded. :laughing

well, yeah sure haha but that's not really my point. He can be a force for Oakland but he's giving me a sense the he'll come in and act like a spoiled brat. He expected to get paid big time in free agency by some team desperate for his services, and he got crickets in return. So Oakland gives him a minimal-ish contract with some incentives and no guaranteed money. And why should they? he had like one or two good playoff games and a handful of productive regular season games. Yeah, I can see a diva like him being unhappy with the move.

But is that the way you act openly? No. You go out, thank the management of probably one of the only if not the only club to offer a contract, and you show the fans and the coach that you're chomping at the bit to come in and kick ass and earn the contract you thought you were worth.

I am not getting that feeling from him though. I'm getting more of a Randy Moss vibe right now. Difference with Crabs is (besides massive talent difference), the Raiders can release his sorry ass in preseason and it won't cost them a dime. And whether he knows it or not, that will be the end of his big contract chances. So if I were him I'd check that attitude real quick.

His fortunes and his alone are in the balance. It'll be up to him whether he perseveres and succeeds, which will help him and Oakland, or buckles under the magnitude of his own petulance and suffers alone.

right now, I'm guessing it'll be the latter. but I'd like to be wrong.
