The Official 2015/2016 NFL Thread

looking at the schedule, the first 5 games is make-or-break. all are very lose-able games. 4 are possibly winnable. we can just chalk the Denver one up as a loss.

if they're 2-3 or 3-2 by the bye, there's hope. if they're 1-4 or 0-5, it'll be another long ass season.

I'm thinking a win before week 8 would be a good step fwd (and I'm an optimist).... :laughing

I don't know, I think the Bengals and Ravens will be a tough sell, but Raiders get to play them in the home toilet, wher ethey play their best ball. The Chi-Chi and Clevland are very doable wins. Denver will depend on Peyton, who may be a heaving hump of gristle and staples by week 5. I would not be bowled over if this tem was 3-2 or 4-1 at the start of week 6. Honestly I would not be shocked if they were 1-4 either, but this is a team who is right around the bend and will be turning the corner any time now.

is Radnich ever not piss-drunk anymore? or am I being insensitive to some disease he may have?

He's pretty lucid if he is. I mean, the guy looks all puffy from a life of drink or drugs but on-air, I dunno.

As for Afr-Ams in beisbol, I would merely point out that there are plenty of Af-rams in baseball, they just come from south of Florida, but its typical American chauvinism to not acknowledge it.; as though the millions of Africans that either came as slaves or martitime expanison to the Hispanic world don't count.

And Gumball hit it on the head: if you don't have a dad around to teach you some baseball, take ya to practice and participate, it's uphill that you'll get into the sport. I had that direct experience with my split-up folks. I really wanted to play when I was little.

Should be in another thread tho.

It is a really tough team to figure this year. I was telling my coworker, I wouldn't be surprised if the Raiders are over .500 this year, but that doesn't mean I think it will happen.

I can still hope though. And as long as they do better than the 49ers :twofinger

Uh, you can tell your coworkers that that will happen, based on everything I'm seeing. And I am a 49er fan.

PS. Howdya like that black eye the other day, kicking the soccer kids out for a parking lot? Professional sports meet children athletes. . There is a connection.

The Niners are the biggest question mark of the league next year I think. I mean, there is a lot of spin that they were just trimming the fat and will emerge as a competitor under new management, but when you lose the likes of Gore, Borland, Willis and J. Smith in a single season, I don't feel like a couple of pick ups in the draft are going keep you team that was already skidding last year from skidding a little farther, especially when the Niners are like 3rd hardest in strength of schedule this year (Pitt and Cinci have it worse).

interesting.

True. Those are some heavy questions. I still wonder how much the lack of support from the FO to the HC affected the season as well. The Niners were in games last year that they ended up losing. It shows they didn't lose because there was a lack of talent on the field. They lost because they didn't care. They weren't willing to fight for the wins when they needed to. The rookies proved they could step in and get it done. Having Borland retire hurts but I'm betting they can actually fill his and Willis' shoes adequately. Possibly by picking up some of the slack through better play in other positions (OLB? DB?).

For me the biggest question is the same one I've had for the past 12 or so seasons. Will the offense crack the top 10 this season? Again, I think the talent is there. Can the coaches actually get it to produce though?

Not for 4 years, I believe I read, due to the way the schedules work out. That means Raider fans can really savor last years win that all but sealed the 9ers off season fate.

It was a very good win. :teeth

wow 4 years, maybe kap be retired before he faces Carr again for another embarrassment

i view the loss in 14 to the raiders after getting their ass pounded on thanksgiving and kap going "its a must win" was the turning point. Must win the last 4 games, big dreams but your players played with no heart.

:afm199 Ancient history... :p

Same Coach in the Picture, Same QB in the pictures, still lining up. We even rehired Spagnuolo as DC for this season. :dunno

We are 3 seasons removed from the last Superbowl win. The last 2 years we have been scored as the most injured team in football, which I hope we can get straight this year. Calling New York Giants football of the last 10 years a bad product is just silly. There are only a handful of teams taht can claim as good a product and none of theose teams sell as many tickets as we do. ;)

Last time we were 3 seasons removed from a Superbowl win, we went to the playoffs with a 9-7 record as a wildcard team and won it again.

See you in January. ;)

they won the division at 9-7, on the last week of the season iirc...but that's not important

How the Giants were able to pull it all together for that epic playoff run is beyond me. part of the magic of the game.

They have a shot, sure. It's harder to imagine it happening this year, since the division has gotten pretty tough since 2011/12. I'm guessing 11-5 at the very, very best, including very tough games in dallas and philly. oh I could just imagine the turmoil caused in those two cities if the g-men were to sneak past both of them...

If it happened, they would be going into the playoffs completely under the radar as a contender...and they seem to be very comfortable with that.

They're a pretty thin team all in all, even healthy. and it's also assuming Eli stops throwing picks again. a long shot, but not out of the question.
