Whiskey

Never tried it that I can recall, but it certainly sounds tasty.

Doesn't it look like a chart guys could argue about for hours?:laughing

Just purchased a variety of malted grains. I won't be aging it this time, I'll distill it and then infuse it with some botanicals for gin.

Yoda.. if you like the Glenmorangie (10yr, Bourbon cask aged) you might like the Glenmorangie Nectar D'Or ( 12yr, aged in American oak bourbon casks along with casks that once held Sauternes sweet white wine).

Recently got this on a whim as having never tried it before - JURA 10yr, Sherry cask finished. Pleasantly surprised, very nice.

Nector D'Or is amazing

I don't like Jura, too smokey/peaty

I may have posted this before, but I used to think "the smokier, the better" until I got some of the Laphroaig "Cairdeas" 2014. whooo!!! like drinking a campfire mixed with battery acid. :laughing

It's used as the "new guy" drink during "Scotchtoberfest" here at Casa My House.

This year I've got a couple new bourbons to try in 2021, one from the Sonoma Distilling Co., and an Uncle Nearest 1884.

Yeah, I'm NOT a bourbon guy, but the descriptions in the "flavor profiles" :rolleyes made me curious.

Taste is such an individual and personal thing.

I am totally a rye guy, and I also like bourbon. I very much like Scotch but I consider it a sort of "finer" drink.

Staying on the Bourbon and Sherry casks side but a Highland - Tomatin 12yr.
Warm, slightly oaky finish.

Just picked this up with a bottle of Blanton's as well. I've always really wanted a decent wheated whiskey and from what I've been told, this is how Papi actually starts anyway. Yes, it was incredibly expensive and yes, I'm afraid to open it due to potential buyers remorse setting in and then not being able to sell it to a broker. :laughing

Target had Pendleton 1910 Canadian Rye Whiskey on sale, $43 marked $24 off, so $20 for a 750ml. I thought it had a strong flavor and not bad.

New Year’s Eve I was at the Doubletree in San Ho. Stopped at the bar and treated myself to a glass of Glenlivet 18-year and paired it with a plate of gyoza. Life is good!

Spent the holidays in Guadalajara and brought back some goodies to pair with my whiskys at home. Thanks Obama!
