Why do people hate on budbandit so much?

I still maintain my neutral stance.

Bow to your sensei.

IMO,

people are just too sensitive of Budbandit's approach of getting the message across....especially for Californians whereas theyre used to getting advices with a hug and a Care Bear smile & kisses which Budbandit doesn't offer....

Some will say "Please be careful out there..."

Budbandit will say , " don't be a fucktard on your gaRy R6 wearing your Icon gear that's so faggoty only thing is missing are tassles and bells on the fucking thing...."

okay....I kinda added a few words, but ya'll get the point....:laughing

I don't hate budbandit. Get tired of his ranting sometimes, but whatever, you don't have to read it.

Now, which iron chef are you? French, Chinese, Japanese, or Italian? :laughing

That is a good question. It turns out that there are actually some pretty tender and sensitive egos in the motorcycle world and that with a little bit of thought it is easy to completely enrage a certain type of person, usually young, usually aggressive, perhaps type A male who despite (or perhaps because of) a lack of experience with the world has a mighty fine opinion of himself and is quick to anger and offense at any suggestion that there might be another way to go about things. Part of the reason I am able to rile up such folks so readily is that I was one myself not so many years ago.

Lots of guys in their late teens/early twenties want to think that they are the shit and that they have all the answers and are particularly riled by folks doing things like telling them that they are completely fucked, especially if someone comes out and tells them that they are completely fucked instead of couching it in coddling, ego preserving language.

A lot of the controversy and provocation is intentional. I have noted that quietly and intelligently spoken points or nuggets of wisdom, well written and without any fucktards or asshats or other colorful and offensives turns of phrase, often dissappear without a ripple, much in a way that mainstream culture tends to ignore PBS programming. However, the same point with some asshats, fucktard squids and perhaps some blingfag posers with R6s hung in the trees like Christmas ornaments tends to get more attention and exposure. I take the calculated risk that the negativity associated with such an approach, which is usually coming from the subset least likely to listen to me or anyone else anyways, is offset by the positives of wider exposure of a potentially useful idea or thought that some might benefit from and that others who already know it hopefully are amused by.

One thing that is funny though, although I never claim to be anything other than a fat old guy of middling skill at best with little more than a bit of experience and a lot of opinions there are plenty of folks willing to accuse me of all sorts of things from God Complex on up. Funny how people get weird ideas and notions.

Long and short of it is that I love riding and I enjoy writing about it and it upsets me greatly to see folks hurting themselves up in the hills. Few things suck the joy out of a nice post work escape to the hills than to come across a meatwagon loading up another rider or having to tend to a wounded guy yourself, not to mention the joy of having some dickhead go wide into your lane at 100+ or the even less joyful experience of being taken out by a fellow rider. So much of the carnage could be avoided completely with just a little bit more common sense.

I hope everyone gets out and has some good times on the bike this weekend and I also hope that everyone gets to avoid meeting The Man in any professional mode. Ride safe, have fun, don't get caught.

I'm not on his jock or anything. I've never met the guy.

But isn't the mantra of many a'board "if you don't like the post, don't read it/post?"

Sure, he may sound like he's on his high horse, but if he, or any preacher man is able to make a rider more safe and realize that certain actions do endanger not only him/herself but others, isn't that worth it?

You can counter argue that a person's life is their own. But being a motorist in public, you also have to take other motorists into consideration.

Isn't it the same as "anyone can start on a hayabusa, just be careful." but, on the opposite end of the spectrum?

BudBandit killed my whole family.

He is the SWINE FLU!!

Well no hate here.
I see through the rough stuff to the core meaning of the post. Usually he is spot on or close enough to the point for me. Of all the folks on BARF he is one of the FEW I admire and would enjoy meeting. He seems to me to be the kind of guy to give the shirt off his back for anyone genuinely in need. As well as share experiences and views to make you go hhmmm.
No butt love here, I prefer streight shooters. Cany coating is for F'n CANDY not people who get BUTT HURT easily.
Yea and didn't check my spElLing, thx

if this helps any, Budbandit wears Hello Kitty slippers around the house when he works on his bike....

words can easily get misunderstood especially over the internet....

I see a lotta bashing of people on these thread although ya rarely see the same thing when AFTER the same people meet in person....

people spend too much time being a keyboard jockey and not enough riding and meeting others on the board....

have a nice day cuz we all gonna die....

love,

Malcom V4 X....

People fear what they do not understand, or cannot comprehend... and this leads to defensiveness.

I've never had a problem with BB, despite the calls that his "delivery" is caustic and too frequent.

In my mind, a strong opinion is always preferable over a weak one, and BB definitely has strong opinions :)

My assumption is that he would wish no harm on anyone who lashed out verbally against his opinion. That's good enough for me to always try to find common ground with my point of view, and his...

I wonder how many who subscribe to the school of BB dislike, have actually met the man? :hand I've spoken with him face-to-face more than once. It's not hard to do...just go to Alice's almost any Saturday morning.

You might be pleasantly surprised.

Just make sure you don't have all the "ghey bling" like aftermarket signals, etc...and that your hide is thicker than leather if you don't have geat ;)

:sigh

Mod hat removed.

I don't hate BB, but I do dislike him. I've met him, I've ridden with him, and I still dislike him.

Jason, I doubt you care, but if you want to know why, I'd be happy to share that with you via PM's or in person, I just don't see any reason to do that here.

Unless your in a close-knit group, the riders at Alice's on the weekends don't like outsiders or solo riders. If your going to go up there alone, don't talk to anyone and keep to yourself.

I don't think this is true. Some of those people were there "the first time". When I went there my "first time" I was welcomed... and cautioned. Perhaps this is what you are referring to. Those rides are set up with leads/sweeps for a reason, and to ride in those rides, a rider, especially a new/new to the ride rider must agree to a certain rule set for everyone's safety. Perhaps you went with a chip on your shoulder, or to prove you were the fastest. I don't know, but I can certainly see how that kinda of 'tude would cause that group to tell you to piss off.

My experience was fantastic. For the summer that I rode in the C group (and a few at the end of the summer in the B group!) I learned a lot, met a lot of great folks, and had a really fun time riding a little fast and a lot safe.

YMMV

AGREED!!

I've been reading a lot of BB posts and rants but what is it with him bashing on R6's all the time? Just an observation.
