Why do people hate on budbandit so much?

I have no problem with BudBandit's threads. Some of you may get turned off by his style of writing but I've learned that if you post a well-written, informative, non-offensive thread on here, it gets cycled out of the main page pretty quickly. :wtf

So, it seems that the only way to keep a thread on the front page long enough for a large number of eyes to see it and to get heated discussion (any is better than none or very little) is to post in a manner that gets people worked up.

Maybe it's a sign of today's society that people have to resort to that kind of tactics, but if you look at elections for public office, people who just have a simple message and who don't attack their opponenents rarely ever get into office. ;)

If you want to blame anybody blame yourselves (i.e. the majority of society) for responding better to negatives than positives and creating a situation where negative messages will always get better responses than positive messages.

BudBandit gets his point across and I'd be willing to bet that more than a couple people each season benefit from his threads, so for this he gets my thumbup. :thumbup Like him or hate him, his method does work.

Nobody hates him. The only ones that talk trash are the ones that hide behind a computer all day and like to e-criticize.

I've seen him lead his Saturday morning rides, and everyone looks to be having a great time.

Mod hat removed.

I don't hate BB, but I do dislike him. I've met him, I've ridden with him, and I still dislike him.

Jason, I doubt you care, but if you want to know why, I'd be happy to share that with you via PM's or in person, I just don't see any reason to do that here.

No mod hat to remove.

You are correct, I don't care. Nor am I particularly curious as to why.

Unless your in a close-knit group, the riders at Alice's on the weekends don't like outsiders or solo riders. If your going to go up there alone, don't talk to anyone and keep to yourself.

HUH?

It is actually very easy to talk to people up there and people are in my experience very friendly. More often than not there is a ride that leaves at 10am on Saturdays up there where just about anyone who shows up is welcome to join in.

Lots of people up there may have a lot of things going on and perhaps there are lots of people up there who are meeting up with particular people and may be distracted or busy. I know my head tends to turn when I hear a bike approaching and that can be quite distracting up there.

I can't imagine anyone up there having anything against solo riders and I have seen many cases where people have been happy to go out of their way to warn newcomers and strangers about dangers on the road or give advice as to how to get somewhere or what path might be best.

It may be possible to find some surly folk up there but my experience is that folks at Alices are pretty damn happy to be there and are fairly eager to shoot the shit about bikes and bike related stuff.

+1

I've ridden up there with a few friends & solo. Always meet ppl with friendly attitudes.

I've been reading a lot of BB posts and rants but what is it with him bashing on R6's all the time? Just an observation.

Sorry about that. In truth the R6 is a fine machine with exceptional handling, although not particularly robust in terms of torque or long distance comfort for the equatorially gifted (ie fat). Sadly, the R6, fine as it is, was at one point the squid weapon of choice and thus in my rants sometimes serves as a metaphor for all 600 supersports that find themselves in the wrong tentacles.

FWIW, I don't care for BB's delivery style myself but so it goes, weeding through the chaff (his choice of words) you can easily get to the wheat (his message). Folks shouldn't get to riled on how things are packaged so much as what they contain (good riding tips & advice).

Oh, I'm over 30, not agressive and don't pretend to be the shit. I've never met BB in person nor have I been on any of his rides. But none of that matters, I just prefer less aggressive delivery here on BARF as I personally don't need that sort of business for the message to get through to me.

But again, so it goes, there's a lot of shit I'd like to see changed that I don't get riled about... Moving on.

He just speaks his mind, plain and simple. Sometimes I agree with him, sometimes I don't, other times I just give my monitor the finger.

True.
I usually get a couple sentences in, and then click the back button.
No biggie. There's plenty of other stuff to read.
Keep on keeping people safe BB.

Guys, your taking it out of context.

Those groups at Alice's to which I speak of don't make an effort to ignore outsiders and us solo riders. Nor do they make an effort to be outwardly friendly to strangers, nor should they.

We all love riding up there and hanging out, grabbing some coffee and some food. Ya know, chillin. It's just my observation that close knit groups feel more comfortable among themselves and would prefer it if outsiders/solo's stay away.

If that observation is wrong, so be it.

I'm up there every weekend (well almost) with the rest of you guys enjoying the weekend rides as we should.

BB is like Santa Claus, if Santa Claus wore leather and delivered presents on a Hayabusa.

That's a first. I've been riding up there for almost 20 years and have found this statement to be by and large untrue.

hms...im pretty peaceful with folks on BARF...and if they hate...i just call it :twofinger love :teeth

It seems to me that there is just as much - or may be more- support for Budbandit as there is hating.

I don't see the purpose of this thread, and hate the fact that given its nature, and it being in the kitchen sink, it has a possiblity of becoming pretty nasty.

I really don't understand the purpose of this thread.

IMO,

people are just too sensitive of Budbandit's approach of getting the message across....especially for Californians whereas theyre used to getting advices with a hug and a Care Bear smile & kisses which Budbandit doesn't offer....

Some will say "Please be careful out there..."

Budbandit will say , " don't be a fucktard on your gaRy R6 wearing your Icon gear that's so faggoty only thing is missing are tassles and bells on the fucking thing...."

okay....I kinda added a few words, but ya'll get the point....:laughing

+eleventybillionandone.....especially this part "people are just too sensitive"
