:thumbup That's beautiful

It's funny when they realize how much they need the people they are about to screw over.

He said he normally does not chew tobacco but did so Tuesday solely to spit juice on the actress.

Oh, get this! Two of my buddies went to the NRA convention in Houston this past weekend. The Million Mom March showed up to protest the event, with double their usual number...

... the second protester showed up!

Guys, Glock question about
<---------------

I've read that it is possible to over-oil the gun? After the last time I went shooting, I shot some 165grain rounds and everything went off without a hitch. When I got home, I cleaned it and oiled it - maybe a little too much.

So I went shooting the other night with what I'm pretty sure was the same ammo (new purchase, exact same box) and the damn thing was failing to eject 1 out of every 3-4 rounds! Needless to say, I was very frustrated.

Then I read that the method for oiling a glock is different from other guns. Could this problem have been caused by too much oil?

That does not sound right. Unless you dunked the Glock in a bucket of oil it should still shoot without a hitch but I doubt you
really drowned your gun. After a few shots and when the gun gets warm oil should be running if you over did it.

What type of ammo were you using?

Where they wad cutters or semi or ball?

How was it failing to eject? Did it not cycle completely? Slide open?

Fail to eject or did it misfeed?

people say i over oil my 1911's because you can see oil between the slide and frame, i never had a problem.

but last time i had a few FTF's but i think it was cuz i didnt clean my gun for like over 1000 rounds, and i was shooting some handloads i made very sloppy cuz i didnt really give a fuck

it was weird cuz the slidestop was coming up and stopping it, and thats why it was failing, i have NO idea why it was doing that. so i went home, cleaned it, put a new mainsprng in it and removed that stupid shock buff pad i installed, should work fine now, i think. maybe ill install the new slidestop i have, but, ill see how this works for now.

i dont think polymer guns need that much oil at all cuz theres not much metal on metal wear. some people dont understand 1911's are a little difffernt. or what the hell, i could be wrong.

Galdurn feds intercepted my shipment of AKs!!! :mad

GIs Indicted For Gun Imports From Iraq
Associated Press
April 13, 2005

PADUCAH, Ky. - Two soldiers and another man were indicted Tuesday for allegedly smuggling machine guns out of Iraq and trying to sell them in the United States.

Army Sgt. Nigel Brown, 31; Sgt. Beau Uran, 24; and Guy Brown, 46, were indicted on federal charges of conspiring to unlawfully import machine guns and aiding and abetting the possession of a machine gun, the U.S. attorney's office said.

If convicted, they could face up to 10 years in prison, a $250,000 fine and supervised release for up to three years. The men are scheduled to be arraigned in May.

Nigel Brown and Uran were deployed to Iraq from Fort Campbell in 2003. While there, they acquired 17 Russian-made AK-47s and a Chinese assault rifle, prosecutors said.

The men allegedly placed the guns inside oxygen tanks after sawing the bottoms off and had them shipped back to Fort Campbell in a container.

They retrieved the tanks when they returned from Iraq, the indictment alleges.

Prosecutors said Nigel Brown then asked Guy Brown, a relative, to sell the guns. In May 2004, Guy Brown allegedly sold the guns to an undercover federal agent for $18,000.

Nigel Brown declined to comment when reached by telephone late Tuesday. A relative answering the phone at a listed number for Guy Brown said he was not available. There was no phone listing for Beau Uran in Clarksville.

Lt. Col. Ed Loomis, a Fort Campbell spokesman, said Nigel Brown and Uran were still with their units. He referred questions about the investigation to the U.S. attorney.

Sound Off...What do you think? Join the discussion.

damn, why did they try to sell them, thats dumb.
i would have just kept them as souveniers or war trophys

Winchester 165grain, the same ammo of my buddy's that I shot without a problem. It was failing to eject the round:

- Pull trigger, pistol fires
- Look at slide, it is not all the way forward
- The slide is trying to push forward a round, but the previous spent round is still in the chamber
- Pull back slide and lock
- Remove magazine
- Send slide forward
- Pull slide back and spent round is ejected

It seems like a problem is somewhere with the ejector claw (I think it's called.)

So, I cleaned the bejeezus out of it last night and oiled it ONLY in the 5 spots where an online cleaning manual (specific to Glocks) said to.

Oh I would have loved to see this.

Fonda is an absolute traitor in the worst way. I saw a few moments of an interview with her in which she said that she regretted having her picture taken on the anti-aircraft gun.

Fuck her!!!:finger She should have never been there. She gave aid and comfort to the enemy and should have been thrown in jail as soon as she stepped foot back on U.S. soil.

Fuck you Jane Fonda, you will never be forgiven.:finger

Glock saga continues. So, like I said, I cleaned the heck out of the gun and re-oiled it per Glock specific directions. I went to the range last night again. The first three magazines were absolutely flawless. Not one single FTE. Then, on the fourth mag, had 3 FTEs. Once I finished the clip, I examined the chamber area and noticed that the extractor claw was shiny. Apparently, I oiled it soooo much the time before last, that the first three mags loosened up some oil that went to where it shouldn't

It is clear, over-oiling a Glock is bad news. I'm an idiot.

hellfyre - were you using the same batch of ammo? It might also have just been bad ammo, and not all pistols will shoot a given ammo as good as another brand. But as you learned, Glocks dont need much lubrication.
For instance my .45 doesnt like Remington/UMC 185gr rounds, but everything else is great through it

Two different physical boxes, but the exact same ammo - Winchester S&W 165gr. I purchased both boxes at the same time.

then likely the same batch. Is this the ammo you use all the time? Try different brands as well. How many rounds through the Glock?

HellFyre, has it happened with all the magazines. They are usually the first things to rule out with a reliability problem.

Man, I overoiled my AK last year and took it to the range. First shot I got a spray of CLP all over my sunglasses. Won't make that mistake again. Luckily my Glock has not had one FTF in probably 3k rounds. I probably only clean it about every 500-1k rounds though, so probably not too much extra lube in there. :D

(A tip: Never buy a firearm from me, I'm really shitty about taking good care of them. ;) )

:wtf You clean your AK? :confused :laughing

It was after a trip to the desert where I went through about 1k rounds about half of which were bumpfired. :teeth

Still ran fine, just felt like giving it some loving. :) And that desert dust is some nasty stuff. I still have some of it on my stuff.
