BARF Militia

I saw the ad for Reed's Clearance Sale. Anyone have experience with this, anything worth looking at (prices, etc.)?
was there today (lots o'time to kill between appts)
firearms 10% off regular prices, scopes (what I was there looking for) IIRC also 10% off.
Reed's in my experience are hit-or-miss with their prices. Best to shop around, but with everything at least 10% off, not a bad time to shop.

It's got nothing to do with "good". The aim of this bill, like all the other BS that CA legislators like to put out, is to inconvenience gun-owners, and make it difficult to exercise our rights. The aim is to make owning a gun such a hassle that most people won't bother, essentially a de facto, albeit voluntary, ban. They don't yet have the strength to ban all guns, so they hack away at the 2nd Amendment with BS little laws like these. It's "death by a thousand cuts", and we CA gun-owners are bleeding bad.

I can't believe those idiot LEO agencies actually got behind this. If this bill passes, I hope the ammo manufacturers grab their collective nuts, "pull a Ronnie" and tell CA LEO agencies to fuck off. "Oh, you support stupid legislation? NO AMMO FOR YOU!"

You Are so right. NOw is the time to go out and buy some reloading gear if you don't have it. If you shoot a lot its worth every penny anyway. When it comes to madness like this its invaluable. Stock up on brass and you'll never have to by ammo again. Its no b.s. They would have to ban every bit of reloading equip on the market to make that shit work. I guess though thats not too far off if they can come up with shit like this.

I must say though, if any of you guys are in the neighborhood, give me a shout, I have a outdoor range about 2.5 miles from my door. Even if I didn't, I'm backed by so much National Forest its ridiculous. No one gives you a hard time here. Sweet Colorado baby

Gah, might have to look at the P2000. . .

I have shot one. Nice piece, if a little small for my hands. Haven't found a HK yet that wasnt a nice pistol.

I'll bring the larger back-straps next time so we can 'customize' it for your big meat-hooks... :twofinger

The biggest benifit is that the round is armor pearcing. I am a big fan of that thing, time to go shopping!

It's sad that one of the benefits of this gun is having 20rds in the mag, and us California losers get to have only 10. :rolleyes

The ammo that is sold to civilians isn't armor piercing. The ATF doesn't allow "Armor piercing handgun ammo" because of the 'cop killer bullets' scare. The problem with the FiveSeven is that the round from a pistol just doesn't do much to a recipient compared to a 45 JHP. Its like stabbing them with an ice pick.

yeah only the law enforcement/military ammo is armor peircing,

im hearing that the whole five seven round is a piece of shit. no stoppping power. just a lot of hype. if you really want to pierce armor (i dont know why you would) just use a shotgun, or any rifle round.

althought i do like the idea of steel core 308 ammo, onlybecase when i shoot, i hang up a large steel plate thats like 3/4 inches thick, and at like a few hundred yards my 308 ball doesnt go through, its not very cool when some guy with a 270 pierces it, and i cant

the funny thing about the serial number ammo law is that its gonna be so easy for someone to frame someone for murder!

all you have to do is go somewhere, take someones brass, then leave it at the crimescene.

i would laugh so hard if someone stole feinsteins used brass, reloaded it, and then shot someone, talk about POWNED.

not to mention, whos going to fund the agency where all the ammo is going to registered through, thats gonna take a huge orginization biger than what the DMV even handles to register all that fukcing ammo.

yeah that law is gonna suck ass, but if it does pass, theres gonna be so many problems with it

I finally got around to cleaning my guns today, and got all kinds of new respect for my Beretta Tomcat. That thing doesn't even have an extractor! This is the first time I've cleaned it since I bought it, and have shot around 300 rounds through it, and it hasn't had any failures to cycle.

Now my revolvers and 1911 are nice and clean and shiny, and ready for next week's sortie to Targetmasters! :cool

Remind me not to buy any guns from you

On the serial number thing....
Are they trying to serial just the brass? I thought it was the actual projectile. Figger'd It'd be a PITA to get a number off of a spent slug, but if its just on the brass; there'll be a WHOLE lotta wheel guns sold!
In one of my archaic books, I've got something on pressing brass. I'll see if I can dig it up. Interesting stuff.
So, I'm looking at rifles. I am soooo F'd. I cannot decide between three. I've always wanted a Garand, I like the M1A and the browning BAR ultra light stalker 7mm short mag. I'm looking for target and hunting use, but there is always the asthetics. Then there are the prices. The BAR is like 700, Garands and the m1a are all over the place, depending on what you get on them. I had an easier time finding a new car!

<sidenote>
What the hell is it with the Minute Man Militia? To me it's the classic definition of a militia. Yet they are constantly labeled "vigilante's"!
Sorry, guess I'm a little irritable today.

Now that i got me a Defender shotgun and a couple airsoft Glock G17 and G19 pistols - i would officially like to join the BARF Militia :banana
