BARF Militia

It's really about half as much. About $200 a case for the 7.62 and $400 for the .223. Wish I woulda bought more when it was $85 a case. Well, I did buy a lot but bump fired it all away. :cry :teeth

And Eric, go for the Sig. Just do it right the first time. ;) :D

I should look around then. A shop close by me wanted damn near 4x more for .223 the 7.62 :|

:( i rented a XD and man..we had problems with it. it fits nicely in some folks hands but the one we rented wasnt cleaned and the firing pin didnt work...

hehe and as for Taurus...i always thought they copied other guns such as the Beretta M92 and all...anyone know wsups with them?
so :( is my opinion...but thats a gun that we RENTED so yeahh...just a lil problem i had with one....

I rented an xd40 and liked it quite a little bit. no ftf or fte
I wish they had the 9mm to rent at the time though.

Dammit if I don't think Ratters is right again. Looking like the refurb SIG.
There is ss one on calguns right now but he wants too much for it, imho.

1. XD's are always on calguns for sale. Why? I heard they had some serious issues.

2. Ammo for .223 can be had for $230 (wolf) online, plus shipping. Then, I saw it at Reeds (wolf), for $299.

3. Whats the deal on that Taurus 1911? It looks reasonably sharp!

4. My dad had a heart attack today. Fortunately hes OK. I think it was relatively minor, since he knew it was kinda coming and was in the ER by the time it happened. Anyway, I might not get the shotty and 10/22 this trip around..

Actually being a stainless model with the rail and night sites his asking price isn't that bad at all. But I think one of the refurbs will do ya just fine though.

Ducky, best wishes for your dad.

I won't run Wolf through my ARs, love it for the AKs though.

yeah Ducky...best wished to your dad man....

Well, I don't really feel like adding another caliber (7.62) to my collection right now. .22 would be more effective for me.

Merry Christmas, peeps. Ducky hope your dad's up and at 'em again soon.

Thanks for all the kind words regarding my Dad. Saw him again twice today and he seems fine, I'm surprised as well that its such a routine ordeal these days.

My dad and step mom were sure to get me the two presents: Remington 870 Express 12 gauge, and the ruger 10/22. The 12 gauge looks to be in great shape. The ruger is in pretty sad shape.

The ruger is quite dirty around the receiver and trigger section. It needs to be cleaned extensively. I can't tell if it is rusted, but I don't think so. The barrel looks pretty trashed too, while the stock is OK. Chances are I'll get a new barrel and a new stock regardless, hopefully I can salvage the receiver and trigger and make a nice little tack driver... Any thoughts on a barrel and stock setup would be great! Any thoughts on a good cleaning solvent would be great too. TIA!

That's good news on your dad.

Hopps is a pretty standard good solvent. The receiver is aluminum, so it should be fine. The bolt and its rails are stainless, and should clean up with a brillo pad at the most.

Dunno if this URL will work, but MidwayUSA has a bunch of good stock and barrel replacements.

Glad your dad is OK Ev.
Family is all I can seem to think about this week.

What do you call a Glock man without a Glock?
A woman :rofl

Never base a purchase off of a rented gun. Those guns are so ill cared for I'm surprised they even work 10% of the time. However, many would point out that if you fire that many rounds through it and it quits working, then that's a sure sign you shouldn't buy one.
