Lightning Strike e-bike

The $10K deposit carbon edition will be first off the assembly line. Smells like Tesla M3 strategy.

Also:

"We'll know more when the Strike gets its full official unveiling in March."

Haha it sure does I guess economies of scale thing.

^^^Whooo, that will empty your wallet right quick!^^^

I appreciate their labeling. I mean, who is dropping $38K - $48K and does not know where the brakes, front suspension, or swing arm are?

That is the LS-218 fastest production motorcycle in the world not the new strike that is going to be $13k.

It appears that the LS-218 is the only one you can reserve, in the link, hence the comment.

The $13K flavor is being announced in March, so says the information, provided in the link :party

You can reserve the Lightning Strike. The LS-218 is already available to my knowledge.. it's just very expensive.

If you click on "RESERVE STRIKE." it takes you to the reservation page. It's not a very intuitive design.. or potentially they messed up and still have that link active.

I don't need to be in here.... Back to reading mode.

as the article says, 35min requires a DC fast charger rather than "just" a 230V charger

that's a pretty damn good price

That's pretty much what a fast charger is, a high amperage high voltage AC source (230v) to supply a DC power supply.

+ Communication from the off-board DC Fast Charger and the vehicle for proper charging.

One nice thing about DC Fast Chargers are off board and not on the vehicles. This is handy to save space on a motorcycle. The bad thing is that DC fast chargers are harder to find than a normal public charge station.

FYI, many Zero owners are using accessory aftermarket onboard fast chargers to to ~Fast charge (~37 min) with regular public charge stations. Public charge stations are not really chargers, they are just higher power connections and the chargers is on the vehicle. In my opinion, it could be more cost effective to just install a NEMA 14-50 RV plug than a fancy - faulting and breaking public charge station.

Charging is the most misunderstood part of EVs.

I guess I missed the part where it said they're only hiring four people to do assembly work.
