NFL 2021

It really was fun to see the fortunes turn their way. And like I said before, relative to the Niner collapse in the rain, it was nice to see a competent QB.
And without Waller!!

There was a 4th and goal play in the 3rd Qty which Carr threw it to Edwards for a TD. Yeah, hindsight is 20/20. Given Gruden's history, yeah, he would have ran it up the middle.

The game on Thursday is actually... important.

The Bears just announced Nagy tested positive for Covid... not sure if that hinders or helps the Bears when they face the 9ers.

Did you know there are real life people that think Montana is better than Brady?

600 regular season TD is really dumb

Yeah, I mean there are always those guys though, right? Some creaky old Motherfucker always going to show up and talk about Johnny Unitas too, but the reality is, you can never really get an apples to apples with that kind of shit.

Montana was King of the 80's, which is ancient dust off mummy fart land. I had mad respect for him growing up as a Giants fan in the Bay Area in the 80's, the Niners O and the Giants D had a pretty great rivalry going back then since the greatest defender ever and the greatest QB ever (at the time) got to face off so much, but the league didn't even have the same Division Structure back then, so it is kind of just lost to history you know?

I don't know either, but I feel like this is the game where the Niners put all their cards on the table. They lost to a bad football team yesterday. L.A. and the Cards are both playing tits out.

You figure since everyone in the NFC that isn't a division leader or the Rams looks fucking terrible, they could still legit be playing for a wildcard, but I reckon right now they shoudl be playing for culture and identity, more to prove they are not the bad team that showed up last year when the QB was hurt and remember that they won a Conf Championship just a couple years ago.

Psychology is so much more weirdly important in the NFL than other sports, and I feel like this Bears game is the Niners opportunity to find their Eye of the Tiger moment and fight their way through the rest of the season, or just keister up to a 2-7 run until the Jags give them a chance to fuck up their draft picks, you know?

I sure appreciate your insights on this one because most of us have no idea about mindsets of players.

Of the first paragraph, I feel like the defense HAS been playing for culture and identity ever since that long-ago big win. Their secondary just got devastated and now they are getting the PIs like nobody's business. The rushing core is mostly there though and I always feel like they can hold opponents to some degree but it's usually not met by the offense.

Gawd help em if they can't beat the Bears.....but their fate of late is to hit teams just at that moment when THEY are trying to come back from a bad loss so who knows..

Yeah really hard to do apples to apples seeing as the league was not even as remotely quarterback friendly and pass happy as it is now. Kind of amazed some of those QBs are still walking around seeing some of the hits they took.

This is also why Rice is the GOAT.

So I haven't been watching a ton of football can someone who has been watching explain what happened to the Chiefs? Not sad to see them getting taken behind the woodshed and hit with an axe this year but I mean they seem to have really regressed for some reason.....

The New York Football Giants would like to discuss a 100% O-Line Swap with said Hot Garbage?

We will also like to offer a number of over priced free agents to sweeten the deal?

KC would probably pay you to take the defense.

Big game this week in the AFC North…for 3rd place :facepalm

Damn, but those Bengals look good though, don't they?

Those guys haven't been shit since Joe Cool whipped their ass in what was it, '89? I'm glad to see them showing up in what has been a 2 team division for decades.

In the continuation of a new game called WHAT THE HELL IS DERRICK HENRY?

Didn't they get Julio Jones?

In other news...

Fragility, thy name is Watt.

JJ Watt is having shoulder surgery, most likely out for the year. Again.

Didn't miss a game for five seasons and played hard as hell on a perpetually losing team. He probably should hang it up but never going to say he's exactly fragile. Wear and tear is a bitch. He's cooked.

From what I watched the Titans have another receiver that's pretty good but they haven't really integrated Jones in yet. Titans are very very good this year thus far.
