pge liable for camp fire?

I'm wondering they're just going to say, "fuck you, you live in a stupid area, go power things yourself".

News flash

Whether the name reads PGE, PG&E, SCE, OG&E or whatever. Power lines will go to the ground. Drunk drivers hit poles, heavy winds, trees, birds, rain, snow are all just some factors.

How does that absolve pg&e for lackadaisical equipment maintenance? One windy evening in Martinez I witnessed power lines that were insufficiently tensioned, slapping together creating showers of sparks. That's not the wind's fault. That's lack of maintenance.

Seriously. I guess it means that since we know bad thing will happen, we accept responsibility for them when they happen to us just because we choose to exist.

Just went back a page to catch up and found his other posts...yeesh.

Shame on them and hang em if the fire(s) was caused by lack of maintenance.

Gotta throw the BS flag on this one. PG&E doesnt send emails stating shit like that.

:orly:Popcorn now its solely your word against the actual email lol

Just googled pge ceo, that beezy cleared over 4.164 million in 1 year for her 2017 salary.

Wow

Shit i thought she would make like 500-750k a year, but 4mil a year.... wow

that beezy needs to forfeit like 3.9million of her salary and give back to the communities that were damaged, idgaf she took her role in 3/17 the bed is yours, you took it over, you get to sleep in it, making 200k per year is still a great life.

$4+ million for 75% of a year is pretty decent salary, considering all the lawsuits they faced.

In counter-point to PG&E greed, there are good people out there. Not everybody is driven by greed and selfishness. :thumbup

Paradise volleyball team given new jerseys, $16,000 in donations by opposing team
Volleyball players whose community was destroyed by wildfire received gifts from their opponents at a semifinal match.

The Paradise Adventist Academy team played Forest Lake Christian on Nov. 10, and they arrived to find new jerseys, equipment and donated clothes waiting for them and more than $16,000 in cash and gift cards, The Union news outlet reported.

“I've never been so overwhelmed by so many things I would have never thought possible, and this is one of the most amazing things I could ever have thought would happen,” Paradise Adventist coach Jason Eyer told the news outlet.

The money and donated items were all collected in 24 hours, as Forest Lake Christian scrambled to provide Paradise Adventist with the necessary equipment in advance of their game. A local company helped create custom printed uniforms for the Paradise players.

Yea, we had lotsa clubs and groups of organizations pool money and supplies and were handing them out locally here in SR.

Nobody checked your story, the handouts and checks where there - you showed up and they had it - they would give it to you.

I argued that lots of scum would take advantage of this, was scolded and told people are all people in a time of crisis - and you are in a better position to give so stfu and give and its all donation anyways.

The fire blew up on Thursday and there was a weather alert from Tuesday through Saturday because of the wind and PGE said they were going to shut off power during that time, but they never did. *If* there was a line taken down from a tree that came down from the wind during the weather alert, then I'd say it's very likely they'd be liable.

So, *IF* it was your tree that fell across the PG&E lines and started this massive fire, PG&E is liable?

Yes. It's PG&E's job to make sure their equipment is clear of hazards.

State and Federal law mandate Right of Way clearances for transmission.

You, me or anybody else does not know how the fire started at this point.

If it walks like a company with history of negligence and talks like a company with history of negligence...

Still curious what your angle is, whether employee or investor. You're right that no one is 100% certain what the cause of these fires is yet, but PG&E was found liable for the Santa Rosa fires in 2017, as well as the San Bruno explosion in 2010. Seeing the evidence that's been presented thus far, it's not outside the realm of possibility that PG&E, at the very least, contributed to these fires, and at worst, was the primary contributor due to negligence. It wouldn't be the first (and unfortunately, likely not last) time.
