Wine Country Ablaze

Less than 3 miles away.

Massive jump of the line from veeder over dry Creek down to just above darms Lane.

Do vineyards slow it down? Seems like bare ground with less fuel. I used to live near Alston Park. Dry Creek is just a giant brushpile but you're getting into vineyards to the east

I have realized a real concern. What about the cows? I have an affection for Strauss...

A lot of livestock were lost. There's almost 30 trailers at vallejo Fairgrounds and tomorrow a group of people will be doing massive amounts of building repairs.

I think they can still use volunteers

Shelina Moreda and a crew of many have been working tirelessly to relocate as many livestock as they can.

There have been a lot of folks volunteering land and transport.
I know Horsepower has volunteered

We sent a bunch of pails down with the Farm Bureau. (to feed animals)

Talked to cdf crashed out at the church.

"If the winds blow North it'll Roar down dry Creek like a freight train so be ready"...

Really hoping they're wrong about wind predictions.

Shows winds blowing in single digits until early morning...get's up to 20mph after. Hope it changes.

I love weather forecasts! Mine shows Atlas peak having a NNE wind at 10 MPH gusting to 20MPH at midnight climbing to 20 and 40 overnight.

We didn't get the south breeze in Sonoma like we have the last few days. I don't like it.

Fuck them all, my forecast is what's out my window.

Smoke and ash.

Blowing lazily south.

No sound.

No light.

Smell of smoke.

Most of my neighborhood has evacuated so it's strangely quiet for a Friday night?

Totally Friday.

Cell coverage has been dropping in and out for the last hour.

Another long night ahead.

Damn..you can't even have a few drinks to relax as you have to be at the ready. Hoping for the best.

Koi, did you lose the vineyard where you were working?
Also, do you and Pops want someone with a pickup to hang out with?

Hang tough Koi. You to Tom, Jeff and all riding it out.

Theres a place to crash in San Rafael-not fancy but private

Seriously. I've looked at beer and wine with so much longing but I'm so beat from lack of sleep and nerves, and every night it seems to get more edgy so I don't want to drink and get caught out or pass out and sleep through a warning.

Winery is fine. Trying to open up this weekend for locals to escape, check in, have a glass of wine complimentary, whatever. Next door singed, next door to that is gone. Across the street is gone. No idea what it's going to look like when I go in, if I go in.

Silverado is fine, everything around it isn't. Pops is there now patrolling for looters.

We're good for now, still ready to bounce should anything change. Parking the bikes a few blocks away at the middle school and loading everything else up in the cars the moment we here boo.

Not 5-7-5 perhaps but I think this is what disaster Haiku looks like.
Hang in there Koi. Let me know if you need anything. I'm not far away.

Here is a map that gets updated regularly.
