ZX14 or Hayabusa?

I am only looking for opinions on the two bikes. I am an adult and take responsibility for my actions. That said, I would appreciate it if further responses would refrain from lectures on my safety.

Take into consideration that everyone, even when they are being assholes in thier posts (like I often do), or doing so for a lot of reasons. Some of them may be:
1. They don't want to see you get hurt.
2. They don't want thier insurance to go up as a result of you and the other 5000 people who won't listen to experience and choose a bike that they can't handle with the engine off, let alone turned on.
3. They are tired of reading about people dying on bikes for stupid reasons.

If you are as responsible as you claim, you would listen to what these people are saying. A responsible person will listen to experience, reason the suggestions, then make a decision based on the advice given. You have been given four pages of "Poor choice, how about you do this..." and you are blatantly ignoring them, very irresponsible.

I wish I was smart enough to ask before hand and then smart enough to listen, I was neither. I ended up on a bike way to big for me (with half the horsepower of the bikes you are looking at) and paid the price for being stupid. Don't be like me.

There are a lot of options out there, even for large riders. They also don't have to be the latest bikes like the two you choose, they could also be older models like what I have for example. Dual sports and SuperMoto's are being worth looking into as they are very fun and better for larger riders, especially when first starting out. I loved having a dual sport (which was my third bike) and look forward to owning a Supermoto soon as I get the money.

I have raced with a guy who is about 6' 6" and 230 pounds, and he races on a 125GP bike. You think a 600 or 1000 feels small? Try a GP bike, that is small. If he can manage to ride, and ride fast on a 125 chassis, then you can certainly manage something smaller then a 1300cc bike.

Or just let the ego be the better of you, do what you want, and hope things work out well.

Regardless of what you say, you are not going to find too many people here who are not going to post the answer you are looking for. Most of us have "been there, done that, have the metal inserts to prove it".

You are not ready for either bike.

If you know better, then make your choice and go away.

Easy to buy too, both Suzuki and Kawasaki offer revolving-credit type loans so you're not forced to spend a ton of money on comprehensive insurance. (the insurance industry is a huge scam)
:rofl

Buy what you want to buy, it's your life. Some people will lecture you on what you need to do and there are other people on this board that have genuine advice that you should hear. The problem is sorting the two out.

Get either one. Then put a 10" subwoofer in the passenger seat so you can roll hard downtown or at the local squid bucks and pickup some fly honeys.

that's how it's done? sweet... anyone wanna buy a 675? i wanna get some "fly honeys"! :laughing:laughing

After doing more research, I've decided to opt for the 2008 Hayabusa for its technology improvements. Thanks to all who have provided genuine criticism.

think of a kid who just got his driving permit. he wants a first car. he get a pagani zonda s.

sound retarded? now multiply that by ten and thats about how you sond to someone who knows a bit about bikes.

i know that thoes arent the only two bike that will fit you. I KNOW!!!!!

strike the hayabusa and the zx14 off your bike list and if the bike has more than 700cc dont add it to your list. i really wouldnt reccomend anyhting over 400cc for a starting bike. me and my girlfriend rode on ym 250 ninja and it held up just fine, combined weight was ~350lbs. it held and exceeded freeway speed no problem.

Please come back to this thread after you have received an insurance quote. Nobody here has swayed your decision. Maybe $400 a month for insurance will. That is if you can get it.

I have an excellent driving record, am 32 years old and am financially solvent. I do not have a problem affording sufficient insurance.

You just got your M1, right? Call and get an insurance quote before you make the purchase.

In 32 years, you haven't figured out how listen to people?:wtf Yeah there is a lot of static in this thread; But if this is your first street bike, buying anything above a litre is like taking a battleship to go duck hunting.

Best of luck to you and be safe.:thumbup

What you need to do to solve this conundrum is get a tape measure and check the size of your penis. In inches 4-5 = Hayabusa 5-6 go for the Kawa- 6-7 maybe a R1, 7 and up you a sensible motorcycle.
